Final Ladder Position: 9th- I feel with a new coach and an injury interrupted preseason we will have a slow start to the season proper but we will come home strongly just missing out on the 8.

I'll be shocked if we miss the 8. In 2010 we beat Hawthorn in a final then before the injury crisis got too bad last year we were 6th or 7th after 15 rounds.

With a far better coach and another pre-season for the young blokes the $2 to make the 8 is massive value IMO as is the $34 for the flag (not that I'm confident that we'll win it but the $19 that we opened at in October is closer to the mark than the $34 sportingbet are offering).

I'll be p****d off but I won't be shocked if we miss the 8. To me there are a lot of question marks over next season at this stage.

Are to many of our players having restricted preseasons?
Can we adjust to a new coach and entirely new gameplan?
Will our forwardline function again?
Will Z Clarke work up forward or can Pav carry the load again?
Are we over our injury curse or is it something to do with the playing surface at Freo oval?

At this stage 9th-10th is probly the worst I can see us finishing but with a bit of luck we should do better. Atm before I actually see them playing, not just reading reports from training, I'm not really gonna put them any higher than this.

Final Ladder Position: 12th

Leading Goalkicker: pavlich with 60

B&F: hill

Debutants: Menegola, Michie, Spurr, Neale and Roberts.

Retiring: Grover

Injuries: we will get a normal injury list, not disproportionatly higher or lower than any other team

Highest Brownlow Votes: Hill

Most improved: Pitt & Hill

Least improved: morabito (as in, wont be nearly as good as what people think this year)

Fair enough Patty Moz.

I think the big question mark is whether Mundy, Sandilands and Barlow are fit and over their injuries. We didn't get a lot from those 3 last year and if they all re-capture their best form we'll be hard to beat.

What I think we can predict is that we will have a good solid defence
who will have tightened up considerably on anything we have had in the past.
I remember watching the first game that Ross Lyon coached at St. Kilda after moving from Sydney.Their defence had been all over the place previously and I remember noticing how accountable they had become.I dont think they won that game but the difference was noticeable.

Wanting to be Lachie Neales buddy....

Final Ladder Position: 1-4, I think people underestimate how much better we will be with Lyon at the helm. The first coach we have had who understands how to implement a consistent and competitive game plan that all players follow. The first year we will see a full team effort IMO. With a much better run with injuries we will position ourselves well for finals.
Leading Goalkicker: Pavlich 50
B&F: Mundy (would of romped it in last year if he didn't get injured)
Debutants: Michie, Spurr, Sheridan, Roberts, Neale
Retiring: Grover/Mcphee
Injuries: Impossible to tell - but management of injuries will be much better. I fear the most a recurrence of Mora's knee injury.
Highest Brownlow Votes: Hill/Fyfe
Most improved: Hill looks to have really improved his endurance which should make a massive improvement - combined with Lyon's ability to get the best out of players, he's the one to watch take it to the next level. Zac Clarke could be anything though. Others to watch will be Mellington (big improvement in fitness, showed a lot last year, Lyon's type of player so will get opportunities), Ballantyne - people need to watch some of his stints in the midfield to see how effective he will be there with a much better fitness base (see Specials29's highlights of the Freo vs Ess game where Balla's spent a fair bit of time there). Mitchie will be a gun when he gets on the field - may struggle this year because of limited pre-season though.
Least improved: A few older players will go backwards (e.g. Grove's and Mcphee) as will guys like Lower (overtaken by others) while Roberton will also be overtaken by others (due to lack of pace).
Likely to be delisted at year-end: Faulks, Anthony (is he on a 3 year contract? If so - last year will be paid out), Walters (too slow), Van Berlo

Final Ladder Position: 6th
Leading Goalkicker: Pavlich
B&F: Fyfe
Debutants: Crozier, Sheridan
Retiring: Grover, Crowley
Highest Brownlow Votes: Fyfe or Hill
Most improved: Walters, Barlow and Mayne
Least improved: Anthony : (

Finish: 5th after the Home & Away season concludes. Close loss in the 2nd Prelim Final.
Leading Goalkicker: Pav... Around the 50-60 mark.
Doig Medal: Barlow
Debutants: Sheridan, Neale, Crozier, Michie
Retire/delist: Grover & McPhee (Retd), Anthony (Delist)
Brownlow: Fyfe, Barlow will score in the mid to high teens
Injuries: A more "normal" injury list
AA selection: Barlow, Fyfe
Most Improved: Hill, Mzungu, Clarke (Barlow is already awesome :D)
"Dyer medal" (the Roy & HG one) or non GF equivalent: Anthony or MJ
