The halfback earned All-Australian colours, averaged 28 possessions for South Australia and tracked at 78 per cent efficiency yet couldn’t find a home last night.

One club said moments before the draft his club would take a good look, regarding the 17-year-old as a “running machine” who excels as a link-up player and tipping Colquhoun to graduate between picks 25-40.

From the Herald Sun; any idea why he didn't get picked up?

Could we rookie him, or we all done outside of Joyce?

Does he qualify for the rookie draft as a 17 year old? Pretty sure there was a rule that you have to be 18 to enter rookie draft!

We do have one spot on the rookie list which we will no doubt fill! Joyce will be picked up in the PSD.

I don't think so, we picked up Laird last year as a 17 year old.

Feel free to post your selections in this thread.

A few i would look at
# Shane Nelson
# Nick Rodda
# Matthew Appleton
# Ben Rioli

I thought you needed to be a previously registered player with Afl to be abke to nom for psd?

Either way he is gone

I think as long as you've gone throuh the ND without being picked up, you can enter the PSD.

What I find strange though, is that if Essendon wanted him on their senior list, why wouldn't they have picked him up at the end of the ND?

Adelaide Mods could you please put the Sam Colquhoun thread in here to keep the board tidy:thumbsu:

Something along the lines of having to be mean to keep 'em keen. Assuming we're talking about Garlett, it'd be wise for clubs to have him fight for that spot on the list in the early pre-season rather than taking his drafting for granted and continuing his dodgy lifestyle.

Immanuel Irra could be a nice pick-up, will need some work but could be a great player in a few years.

Garlett
Irra
Sumner

Need some serious pace and happy to go with a high risk high reward. They may not work out but they may add something special to the team.

Dammit - there's some talent left. Anyway we can open up another pick or two?
