I thought the NEAFL games were called off on Saturday arvo due to the torrential downpour up north? Or did they play on Sunday?

Sunday's games went ahead, or at least the Lions reserves game did.

Ah very good! Any news on how they went? Have been waiting for some news on these fellas.

By all accounts Zorko took up where he finished off last year. Pretty dominant, our reserves coach said he didn't think he'd have Zorko's services for too long.

Docherty was quiet, showed good skills but didn't set the world on fire.

What are the chances of Jesse Stringer staying in for Geelong? Think he has the biggest projected increase for current batch of 2 gamers.

im also interested in this, looks good since its his 3rd year on the list so he should be less likely to need resting unlike other rookies with less developed bodies

Can anyone that follows geedubs closely give any info on some of their fringe/injured youngsters. Intrigued by a couple as downgrade options later on in the year, the ones I've heard about are
Aylett, darley, buntine, Clifton (close to selection apparently) sumner Haynes and of course Patton. Where are they at/who would you look at purely from a SC perspective.

Also others on my radar are Luke brown, weedon (wce forwards dropping like flies) horsey
Spurr couch And seirakowski.

Doing my research this year (Y) any info is much appreciated

- Aylett and Darley are probably behind the pack a bit in terms of getting games. Buntine may fit in here, but may get a run by virtue of being a high draft pick. Hard to say at this point.
- Sumner and Haynes are performing well in the reserves. They may get rotated in at some point, but Sumner is still on the tiny side.
- Clifton probably would've suited up by now if not for his injury. Should be coming back in the reserves in the next few weeks, but given how the incumbents are playing may find it harder to slot in to the seniors now.
- Patton is still being eased into reserves footy. At least six weeks from seniors I think, but I suspect GWS would like to get him up there when possible.

Thanks dlanod, that's pretty comprehensive wrap.
Absolute dearth of downgrade options presenting themselves this year.
Also seeing your a lions man what's the go with zorko, docherty and green? Games forthcoming you think?

Zorko/Docherty:

Don't know about Green. By all accounts doing things well in the reserves, but seems to be on the bubble of our best 22. Should force his way in for a few games but unless he really shines he might drop back a bit.

Treloar out ffs

Wonder what Reddan and Stephenson did to their respective coaches' wives :(

It actually works out ok for me. Was lookiong to downgrade Cox to Stephenson this week before his price went up. Now Sandi's out, really don't want to offload Cox, so Stephenson being out for another week as well works in my favour.

Finally something has gone my way. Although Sandi playing would have workedout better, but i'll ignore that. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

I know wtf? Second time I've brought a guy in ahead of their third game and they have been dropped for their fourth. Especially stings as I traded Kennedy and am now forced to play D.smith who will probably get subbed agin. Grrrrr.

Was Jeremy Cameron out injured yesterday?

Listed as out with a calf, but is the emergency for Sunday. FFS

Quick cash. Mature, won't be rested..is better than half the side already.

reading through this thread it is interesting to note that there was barely any love for Horsley in the preseason...

Could he be the next Beau Muston ala 2009?

Mature aged, 2 decent scores in the 1st 2 games...

Just a warning for those thinking of trading him in with Ablett and Rischitelli due back soon.

Doesnt really matter. Came in for Harbrow and hes still got another 6 weeks on the sidelines :thumbsu:

Main difference is the players surrounding Muston vs the players surrounding Horsley, in my opinion.
