Anyone mentioned Jobe Watson yet? I had him last year and early on for a couple of months he was averaging close to 120 and was a top 3-5 mid. Then he had a few injuries which knocked around his price/average.

If he can stay on the park I'm thinking he could be a good unique and he's a tad underpriced. Thoughts?

I have him at the moment but if enough cheaper rookies show enough in the NAB I'll just pay the extra for a Dal Santo type instead.

There are guys that do what Jobe does without the suspect hammys.

what are people thoughts on barlow or even hayes. both coming off injury so possibility for a 100+ player and some cash?

I'm very close to putting Barlow in. It's an each way bet. If he fire's he could very well be a top 10 mid and that's that. If he just gets back to his previous form, he's still a $525k+ player which makes him a very easy upgrade. But honestly, I think he could be one of the elite this year and might be my roll of the dice in the midfield.

done some reading around today and i'd have to agree. by the sounds even if he doesn't absolutely rip it up chances are he'll make close a 100k in cash. getting pretty tempting

This is my Midfield, any suggestions???

Ablett, Morabito, Judd, Kelly, Hayes, Winderlich (Wingard, Merrett)

Cheers :thumbsu:

What do you hope to get out of these two?
Do you think they will require an upgrade?
If the answer is yes, id start two 100k rookies instead.
This gives you an extra 200k roughly, and more than likely serves the same purpose.
If you don't consider them a top 10 mid by seasons end, then they are purely there to generate cash, nothing more.

Agree with you on Windelich, unless your sure he will be a premium by season's end, no point in carrying him through the latter part of the season, or wasting a trade.
But I wouldn't put Moribito in the same catergory, he is essentially priced as a rookie, 168K is a pretty good price for a player like Moribito, same as the top 5 draftees from last year but with a few extra pre-seasons. I'm a little concerned about how he is going to come back from injury, but if his NAB cup looks ok, his price shouldnt be a worry.

haven't read through all posts yet, so this may have been already discussed, but: thoughts on josh caddy? GC fought hard to keep him, and from all reports he is going to be a star, is he worth paying the 200k for or better off going someone cheaper?

from the way you wrote your last sentence i assume you are looking at him as a cadh cow rather than a keeper. imo i cant see him averaging anything more than 80, as such the cash you'd make from him would not really be more than a ~115k rookie. therefore i believe a cheaper option would be best, therenare plently of them and after the nab cup it should be fairly easy to find a rookie with some good scoring potential. the ~80k you'll save in doing so might also allow you to upgrade someone else to a proven premium

We all know that Pendles, Swan & Ablett will be (barring injury) most likely the top 3 players in terms of average, and most likely top 6 in overall scoring. But....is anyone actually thinking of starting round 1 with all 3? With Swan being the cheapest at $661K normally you'd try and squeeze at least one in.

I've been having a tinker this morning and have a side with all 3 in, and haven't sacrificed in the other positions. Have 14 premiums and the rest are strictly rookies < $126K.

At $2.05M the three represent a massive outlay, but i can't squeeze more than 14 premiums in anyway. I had Swan, Selwood and Watson initially, but couldn't find a way to spend the $220K or so wisely - and i hate having cash left over!

I have them all currently. Problem being I was pretty keen on Selwood as well. The round 12 bye means I have to sacrifice one of either Swan, Selwood or Pendles as a starter or will cop a guaranteed zero that week. Still undecided at this stage who will get the chop. More than likely it will be Murphy to replace one of Swan or Selwood. Pendles is a must have!

i have swan and ablett atm. hoping pendles will drop in price a little at which stage i will pick him up.

I agree very tough to have all 3. Pretty much means a Buddy/Goddard type becomes Martin/Enright type. You would assume having 2 of the 3 would be safe enough with the aim to get the 3rd round 6 or thereabouts. Depends on how well your mid rookies are scoring I guess.

I'm pretty set on a Ablett, Swan, Selwood, Murphy, R, R (R, R) set up. I think Ablett, Swan and Selwood are all a little underpriced due injury, subbing, etc. Murphy will more than likely overtake Judd as the number one blue this year and the 4 rookies will be the popular cows that most will have.

Is anyone putting a focus on DPP? The MB looks pretty tough to find.

My fwd and back premiums don't come much better.

Goodard, Deledio, Shaw, Scotland, Buddy , Chappy, Martin, Goodes & Cloke.

I've gone with McEvoy & NicNat in the rucks - mainly cos of their upside.

I could save my $220K in the mids and update one of these to Cox for example, but i really like my ruck combo with the multi byes.

Trouble with Hayes is that hes like 33 years of age and hasnt played a full game of footy for like a year so he is a big risk but could pay off being only 440k odd...

The majority of players coming back from a year off rarely come back in full flight, and given Hayes age I cant see him returning to his best.
