Would appear Bontempelli is a lock.

Shakes head.
Staggered .
Minimal age difference, to be honest.
Aish had the best kicking efficiency at the champs , and we're overlooking him for a bigger risk.
Looks like we're returning to the " we 're the smartest men in the room mentality if 2009)

Iam rapt that we look like taking Bontempelli, I think the other big plus with him is. He is one of the youngest boys in the draft, and does not turn 18 until the end of November. This just adds to his upside, so much improvement to come. Just pick him Doggies.

Pretty sure there is only 1 month difference between him and Aish still mystified were taking him at #4 but seems alot of people are stoked with him so hopefully we get the next Kouta x Pendles. Anyways ill stop whinging now, if he doesn't work out alot of people are going to be calling for Dalyrmples head. Huge mistake passing on Aish/Billings though imo.

Just on Bontempelli though: He does come across as a lot more switched on then most of the kids I've seen interviewed.

hasnt anyone noticed that his voice even sounds like Pendles?..............

YES! Ha! Thought the same thing.

if we get Bont
i reckon him and macrae will click straight away in the midfield and rack up major touches if we get him.

i agree with this,
i have had the same thoughts so, i agree with this

I think Aish would complement the tremendous young inside players you guys have on your list. I'd be taking him, it's a no brainer, but then again i'm bias. :) Aish is an all-round player with tremendous football nous and courage. The success of Cooney and Griffen should give you guys confidence in taking him.

EDIT: I'm sure if you take Bonts he will work out fine as well. :)

Well, best you can say is we are nt just following the prevailing wind.
However, when you go against the grain and get it wrong people are less forgiving.

I think BMac is a great teacher and he will have his work cut out with Maurice chevalier but if that is what he they want, I and we will just have to get behind them and hope for the best.

If they get this right, I will be very very surprised and but also very very impressed.

Picking Bonts scares the absolute crap out of me but I'm willing to Back the Mac.

Either way. Pies will win this draft again....and Saints.

We just need this to be our membership campaign, with Bontempelli and Hrovat.

On the Bontempelli vs Aish issue regarding ages. They are only born a month apart but each kid develops physically at different times. Even though they are almost identical in age, from the looks of things Aish is an early developer while Bontempelli is a late one. Over the past year, Bontempelli has grown significantly more, which would suggest that he has much more physical development left in him. That, the fact that he provides more versatility, and his character, may be the reasons we are preferring him over Aish.

I'm really starting to warm to the idea of getting him.

If he's 192cm already he wouldn't want to grow anymore. Can he play key positions?

Kouta and Goodes were/are both 191cm. Bontempelli is already taller than them and they're both considered exceptions to the rule in regards to the height of a midfielder.

Pavlich is 192 cm. Mundy is also 192 cm.
Plenty of midfield time.

That's an interesting concern. I think he will top out at over 195cm. This will be extremely tall for a midfielder. Could be a good or bad depending on how his body handles that height.
