Please take Aish. The domino effect should help us greatly. Plus Aish is a 2 time all-Australian and dual premiership player already. Gun.

I think two days ago we were a lock to take MB but today the mood has sort of shifted back to it could go either way type of situation.

Is the mood just a feeling or has there been word that you guys have changed your mind?

No word, just reports from EQ that we're still disscussing Aish and Chris Grant has a source that says he wouldn't beat all surprised if we picked him over MB.

Any chance Boyd could slip?

GWS could pull the trigger on Billings and Kelly...

If that happens he goes to St Kilda at 3

We'll need jedi mind tricks to get him to 4 :D

Scharenberg pls.

Prediction: If we don't take Bontempelli and he becomes a superstar, at least one of the Danny from Droop st types will get on the recruiting teams case for never taking a risk like the big teams.

I want to be different, Billings please :D

So from what I've gathered, Bonts looks like the favourite, but nowhere near a lock for pick 4. Others are Aish, Scharenberg, assuming that Boyd/Kelly/Billings don't slip. So nothing has changed. Correct?

My late good mail is this...and you take it to the bank:

Sorry but I can categorically state that we will NOT get Aish or Schara tonight.
Macca and co just don't rate Aish's game (as high as some), Schara did not interview well and did not gel with Macca at all (was listed as a ordinary bloke).

Boyd and Kelly are gone.

So Tonight in order of availability we'll take Billings first;

then

Bonts
100%

I'll throw some names for 42 and 60 in the other thread at 7.

The Herald Sun rated each club's drafting over the past 3 years. We were the only club above 8/10.

WESTERN BULLDOGS
No.1 picks: Adam Cooney (2003)
Best bargains: Chris Grant (105, 1989), Brian Lake (71, 2001), Danny Southern (92, 1992), Ryan Hargrave (66, 1999), Daniel Cross (56, 2000), Lindsay Gilbee (43, 1999), Tom Liberatore (41, father-son, 2010).
Biggest busts: Paul Gow (8, 1990), Sam Power (10, 2001), Jason Shields (16, 1989), Farren Ray (4, 2003), Andrejs Everitt (11, 2006).
Past three years: The father-son rule helped the Dogs land Mitch Wallis (22) and Tom Liberatore (41) in 2010 and their top two picks in 2011 - Clay Smith (17) and Michael Talia (39) - are coming along nicely. Tory Dickson (57, 2011) was a steal and last year's crop of Jake Stringer (5), Jackson Macrae (6), Nathan Hrovat (21) and Lachie Hunter (49 - father-son) all look like hits.
Our verdict (2010-2012): 9/10

Still confident it will be Bontempelli.

Regardless, the club has done an excellent job in keeping important information behind closed doors. It wasn't long ago we leaked like a sieve.

I remember speaking to Fantasia two years ago and he said that was one of the issues the club was facing. They didn't know how info kept getting out. That has certainly improved ten fold in the last 12 or so months.
