EFA. .. and continued:

It's Navy Blue is guarded by years of history. There is a presence that does not sleep. The great masses are ever watchful. It is a club riddled with premierships, success and trust. The very air you breath is sacred. Not with ten thousand men could one take this away. It is folly to think we wont achieve No. 17.

GC/BC ?
Actually - from memory, in the 70's or 80s a player whom I cannot remember did exactly that, walked into training and asked to train with Carlton, and later ended up in the 22. I'll see if I can find it on Blueseum...

Andrew Walker should be a full time midfielder. GC/BC?
Yeah, not sure call. I like him as a forward - he can run, take a grab and his kicking for goal is exceptional. Maybe he can job share with a regular midfielder and split his time 50/50 on the fwd line and in the midfield.

Judd to spend more time on the forward line to extend his playing career. GC/BC

Not at the moment call.

Is probably the best set shot on goal at the club, and has kicked genuine match winning goals.
Plus the fact that he's practising spekkies at training methinks he stays forward.

GC I think he'll spend some time forward, but his strength is stoppage work & he'll still spend most of his time there.
Judd & Murph to be mids rotating forward, Gibbs & Walker to be forwards rotating into the mid GC/BC

Backtracking a bit, but I think this is a BC.

I have no doubt that he could make the transition to full time midfielder but I don't believe midfield is where he would be of greatest use to the side. In my mind, at full fitness Walker is a weapon for us in the forward line and he gives us something that not many others can. Fitness permitting, he's a 35+ goal per year player and we should use him in a way where we give the best chance of that eventuating.

I chose to answer that as it leads on to my question. In 2012, Carlton had just 3 players kick over 20 goals. That's equal with Brisbane, Western Bulldogs and Gold Coast, and better than only Melbourne and GWS (wo both had just one payer reach 20 goals for the season). The average amount for teams that played in finals was 6 players (rounded down), ranging from Sydney with 9, to Fremantle with 4. Carlton's contributors were Betts with 48, Garlett with 29 and Waite with 27.

Walker, Hampson, Murphy, Gibbs and Robinson are the 5 names I believe to be most likely or able to lift their tallies above that 20 goal level, with Casboult a realistic chance as well.

Carlton need 2 more players from the list above, at the very least, to kick 20+ goals next season if we are to make the finals. GC/BC?

BC!

We just need one player to kick 200 goals

When Carlton beat the filth in the first meeting of the year will fat Eddie's head finally explode?
Good call/ bad call?

GC

In 2011, we had 3 players top 50 goals for the season (Walker, Betts and Garlett) and IIRC Murphy was over the 20 odd mark as well (in fact 22) as was Robinson with 21 (but only 10 in 2012). I think Hammer would have done 20 easily for the year (he was on 15 and averaging better than a goal a game when injured), Garlett could have easily had more goals if he wasnt hitting the post. Armfield could have done 20 (he ended with 16 this year).

I think we missed Walkers 50 goal contribution last season.
