taken me all week to get over our defeat at the hands of kedron on Saturday.

that now puts us out of the running for the finals , but on behalf of Alex hills AFC we would like to wish all teams competing the best of luck.

The boys tried hard all day on Saturday and only bad goal kicking , and a very lop sided free kick count got kedron over the line.

Hopefully the boys will finish the year off strongly with 2 games remaining.

I have been doing some light reading this morning on the NEAFL forum pages.

does anyone in this level have any input into the situation regards changes to the structure of AFLQ next year?

what do you base the divisions/Comps around ?
money?
history?
Location?
ability to draw players?
Ground and facilities?

Lots to think about, cos speaking from an Alex hills point of view , our club , doesn't have a great history , doesn't have a large amount of funds, club is run by volunteers, Location ? Well Mt Gravatt , Redlands and Morningside are all very good clubs within 30 mins drive of Alex. Ground and facilities , average , ground is owned by the council but our Volunteers doe the groundsman work. New coaches boxes are a great addition , Change-rooms over average quality.

I just hope that a club like ours doesnt get left behind when the AFLQ reaches a decision of the restructure in the coming months.
 
Stanley one of those years for your boys - capable of mixing it with the top teams just lacking that consistency.

No doubt the club will hope the 2's can get a couple of wins and hang on to 4th or 5th spot.

Yeah its an interesting situation with the league restructure. FWIW i would think that the likes of Mt Grav, Redlands and Morningside would want to continue to complete at the highest level possible - unsure of the inner workings as to cash flow there but would think would be moving heaven and earth to keep NEAFL license - particularly morningside given there past.

Would make a cracker div 1 if it contained the likes of PBC, magpies, surfers, grange, mayne, springwood, sandgate, maroochy and noosa, UQ, and had the likes of a Mt gravatt, Redlands, Labrador, Broady added to it.

From what ive heard cooly and burliegh might look to end up back in this div and would think that most teams in this div would remain unchanged - cant see cab or wynnum wanting to drop down a div despite the year they have had.

my personal view is this div is the best for Robina over the next 4 years based on where we sit with players currently on our list - dont think we have the $$$ to match that required the div above and think stepping back a div would sacrifice the hard work done to get the club to where we are atm.
 
I believe Alexandra Hills will be fine next year in Div 2, will be Interesting to hear what the Kings get upto at the end of the season though.

Wynnum to Div 4, unless there are some drastic changes at the Top. (No not the Coach, higher up)

Morningside not interested Joining the NEAFL, but things might have changed since the NEAFL clubs are now allowed to field a Div 2 Team.

Redland are in the GC Zone, Southport has tied up the GC Spot.

Mount Gravatt are struggling to keep their heads above water.

Div 2 team being the one below the State league one Sherrin? It could impact on Div 2/3 bc it may become regional these divisions ie a north / south style.
 
Smy1305, I'm not to sure what the Divisions will be called next year, if Morningside or Aspley do join the NEAFL the club/s will field a "2014 Div 2" Team
 
Where is the Devil the big mouth all year has gone to ground. Once again Yeronga have tried to bye a premiership fail 1980 - 1990 all over again. Well done Aspley under strength again. People should take note of the there coach very very very good
 
Stuyd1 yea great effort - hard to believe only the second time he has kicked 100 in regular season.

Almost a shame about the restructuring going on as both grades ladder positions to be decided by final round results.

I believe Fults kicked 100 plus down in the Warranambol comp in vic, before he moved to QLD. So would be his 3rd century in a season.. Believe his career tally is around 1100 goals at a senior level in his career... fantastic record.

Yeah stuyd1 his old man was saying last night the vic one and this one were regular season but his broady one was reached in a final - u may have first hand knowledge about how close to the mark that is.

Mind u as he said to the boys last night it's not the reason he is still going around - fingers crossed we can get him the medal he has missed out on a cpl of times.

Looking forward to kings and devils in first final - hope they belt the suitcase out of each other :)

no doubt, he wants to be part of a premiership side.

How sure are you about redlands being classed in the GC zone ??

Would be a shame if redlands don't play in the neafl , after years on playing state league and getting there ass handed to them the last 5 years they have started to get t right it seems , now they will be forced down a divsion and probley dominate due to the finds the club has to spend.

Well done to Korey fulton on the ton , but i am sure BOC is right in saying that he has his eyes on a premiership medal.

What has happened to mugavin is he injured devil?

At this Stage the NEAFL will almost take any Club/s from NEAFL North (Brisbane and the Gold Coast)

At the moment 2014 NEAFL players must play QAFL Football and can not play for the their prospective Div 2 Team.

In all seriousness congrats to fults and my mate theroopen on winning the comp goal kicking - the decision to gamble on wynnum forfeiting the reserves to have an extra week off really backfired on me didnt it Chunk#5 hahaha

looking forward to watching panthers/ kings and kings/yeronga beat the sh*t out of each other this week.

Kedron the smokey in the 1s with kenmore utilising the stirling brothers in the 2s to make a late run.

Looking forward to league umpires in all games (no disresect intended to any club umpires).
 
shaqsuns you need to get off the gear!

I think boeh Davies will poll very well in the ones and i also think that the stirling boys 5 games will attract votes and 15 votes won it in the 2s last year from memory.

Generally teams who have very good seasons like robina and yeronga find they have too many blokes to share the votes but hey its AFLQ - nothing would surprise me :)
 
I like to call the dark ablett. On a lighter note our fullback went up to fults before the game and said "hurry up and kick 10 so i can dragged off you". Found that quiet amusing
