I don't think Ahern makes 12 or Weller for that matter. Think its more likely to be Duggan or De Goey vs Blakely and Ellis (or Garlett ect..)

Yeah just best case scenario I was working to. If we gave up 12 and Ahern landed there but we got a couple of goodies would it be detrimental? Probably not.

Weller wont be there, If he was i would take him no question
Would you trade down Bob? 12 to 19 and 21 or the dogs 3 picks?
I would personally prefer #19,#21 but if they were not interested i would certainly do the doggies selection as well provided we upgrade our 3rd aswell
Would we have to chuck in 33 for the bullies?? 12 for 3 picks in the 20's is hard to judge the value.
I wouldnt add #32 and believe the Doggies would take what i posted , the doggies have enough young players

Who is taking Weller? I agree he won't be there but just wondering if you'd heard something. I've heard Crows like Ahern a lot.

I reckon if Carlton get Jaksch without affecting their first, they'll take Laverde, so GC will go for Weller early. Just IMO

Would GWS do it? Doubt it. There's a reason we'd want to do it and they wouldn't and it's the same reason. It's fairly even. If we had a top 10 pick they might consider it.

Not likely but certainly not impossible IMO

They have to start cutting their list down pretty soon so they'll want only the best possible talent they can get.

They will still have to replace Jaksch and JOR plus the old men retiring and any duds. I think if we had a top 10 pick where they could be assured of a Weller/Pickett/Ahern type they'd jump at, but pick 12, probably not. For the exact reasons that everyone wants us to downgrade (i.e. the evenness)

True, but it's not like they're losing players to retirement either (bar Hunt). They're not really losing any more players than other clubs.

Frost? Who they will probably get something useless for. They probably won't draft beyond their own 2nd rounder. I just can't see them going for it personally, as much as I'd love them to.

Ask GWS if they are interested - They have #19 & #21

Or Bulldogs will have #26,#27,#28,#45
We could do a swap for #12+#52
Well apparently we have a strategy for the draft this year which I assume will involve doing something like what you have mentioned. If we go in with just picks 12,32 and 52 I don't like our chances of nailing this draft.

Not exactly. One of the main reasons most on here want to trade down is there are quality prospects who can fill needs with picks in the 20's through to the high 40's. However these prospects are not the same prospects of those before 16 which is where Duggan and DeGoey probably round off the better players and the next tier of players are not as rounded and less skilled.

If we can't trade with GWS then we should look at trading pick 12 to Gold Coast for Pick 15, 47 and 49 which they most likely won't require.

Tell me about Ellis, i've only seen his carnival and he didn't set the world on fire. Would love Blakely, brilliant around the stoppages and already playing well against men almost as good as Sheed and i loved him.

Knightmare has Cockatoo going at #13 now whilst De Goey (15) Ahern (19) Duggan (20) Ellis (25) and Blakely (30) have slipped. 20 pages ago we were saying Cockatoo at #31 and DeGoey/Ahern/Duggan at #12. We really should trade our #12 + #33 for GWS #19 + #21 (+ possibly Whiley if we're lucky) because that would give us the best chance of getting 2 of the above players.

Don't take it as gospel. Online draft gurus including Kightmare have had guys like Dayle Garlett, Tyler Chalwell and Waylen Manson in the first round only for them to go underrated.

Edit- Not to say Cockatoo will go undrafted, just the Nakai is the man of the moment and people could be getting carried away

I'd only do 12+33 for 19+21 if Whiley was included.

GWS only have pick 21 to play with at the moment as pick 24 is tied to Steele, unless you mean pick 19 assuming they get that when they trade JOR to Hawthorn.

To be fair Garlett would have gone first round on talent, he was just a ****head of the field.

Personally think Chris25 has a better eye just that knightmare's write ups look more complete.
