Fun hypothetical: If Petracca or McCartin severely broke their leg on the way to the draft function on Thursday (not that I wish any such fate upon any draftee, or anyone for that matter), would they still go top 3?
I would not pick them up no matter how good they were, but then i
would not have picked up Jake Stringer for the same reason it's
hard enough to make it in the AFL and a severley broken leg
could derail if not end your career.

Still wouldnt mind Brett Eddy as a rookie pick
Allows us to have a 23 year old key forward waiting in the wings with foster killing it in the vfl

We don't have Foster though

you would believe if we rated him, we'd have found a spot for him
Or we dont want to pay overs for him?
Why be forced to use a national pick on a likely rookie

The club could have even nominated him under the F/S rookie rule I believe, where we get first dibs if he makes it through.

I read somewhere that Carlton are keen on him. I really do hope we get him as a Rookie. It would kill me to see a Bulldogs F/S KPF tear it up for the next 10 years.

That's redpath isn't it?

I note that both Knightmare and Skippos have Maynard as our first pick. Not many tipsters have him going any earlier.

According to the Kevin Sheehan article, Maynard
- is a powerful left foot kick, with penetrating and accurate disposal
- excellent evasion skills
- rarely beaten 1 on 1
- Victorian

He's a medium sized defender at 186cm and 87 kgs. By comparison, Menadue is only 69kgs.

He seems to be just what we need, coming out of the backline.

Are there any knocks on this bloke?

We had a chance to rookie father son him like Essendon did with Long but we chose not too.

We just don't rate him.
It may just have been Macca who didn't rate him. Bev may meet Foster and push for us to take him. Times have changed since we passed on nominating him for a father son rookie spot.

His endurance is supposed to be average

I'm not sure how fast he is, but if he has any
he doesn't use it much in games

he doesn't need evasion skills, he just runs through the players :p so I think he quite strong through the hips/hard to tackle

Updated BFG phantom has us taking EVW and Oscar McDonald at 26 and 27, letting Lamb slide to Carlton at 28.

I would prefer he punches them in the front of the head
His nickname can be Smacko, because he is bit of a dog and he is hitting them
Any idea how accurate these usually are?
Usually I just wait until Quayle does hers, everything before that can usually be off
you'd expect it definitely would be in what is called an 'even' draft
Yeah wouldn't be too stoked if that was the outcome.
we'd have one slow ass backline then

That is why I'm a little bit surprised we haven't been hearing any rumors around Nielson. He is quite a bit more athletic thanbtge guys we have now.
