Thank you, mids mids and then more mids. Between Stanley Lee White that should be enough for where we are at for the next season or two.
Possibly add Bruce to this too, especially if we get Jacksch who seems to be doing a reasonable job in defence this year.

I'm firmly on the Petracca bandwagon now.

Actually not a bad point.
A lot has to do with timing. If we had Dal, BJ, and Harves, Joey & Lenny at their peak in the guts just how much better would Stanley, Lee and dare I say it Maister:eek: look at the moment?????.
The one good thing on our side is Stanley, Lee & White are all young enough to be around for our next 'gun' midfield:thumbsu:

Yes correct Bruce looks like he is being reprogrammed to play key forward as well. Tell GWS we will trade for Jacksh fairly rather than take as long as they as long as they take our first pick for Patton next season.

Stanley at Port Hawks or Freo would kick 40+ goals.

I'll give you 30 goals at Port, 18 goals at the low scoring Freo and him not getting a game at Hawks.
But I get your point:thumbsu:

He'd play before Cegler that is certainty. The ball comes down so slowly and poorly he has no chance most of the time. Gets on a roll takes a couple of grabs then stands shivering for half an hour.

Im one of the crazy people who rate Stanley but im not sure about that Ceglar comparison . Put that quote on the Hawks site and youd be howled down.

He's not terrible but Stanley is capable of more. Stanley on the lead with their Footskills would be hard to beat.

I didn't say I agreed with all that, just that Rhys and T-Lee would benefit from better service.

As others have stated, the taller types take longer to develop and you generally only get the very best of them with very early picks, so ideally we'll want to get one of them with pick 1 this year, so that by the time we're back in business they are ready to roll. I also happen to think that our future midfield has a lot of potential with the likes of Steven, Armo, Dunstan, Billings, Acres, Templeton, Newnes, Webster, Saunders, Ross, Murdoch and co. in the mix for spots there and it's also a fact that it's much more common to get someone who will be outstanding in the midfield from much later in the drafts, so there is every chance we'll really add to our midfield with later picks in the next few years and that we could also add to it through free agency.

So I'm all for best available with our first pick, but if we don't think there is anything between two of them, then I'd definitely prioritise someone who plays FF or CHF over any other position right now.

As well as Richo apparently knowing the Petracca family, it might not be the worst thing in the world if we do grab Petracca this year that he shared the same forward line for Eastern last year with Boyd, if we do hope to then snag someone like Patton or Boyd at the end of next year, to fill that no.1 key forward role for us. Him having played with Boyd may be a bit of a selling point for us if we have Christian and are hoping to entice Tom.

Also excellent to hear that Petracca comes from a strong basketball background, as that seems to really help with spacial awareness, apart from anything else.

Christian Petracca on TAC Cup Future Stars
He seems to be really impressive both on and off the field. Quality character by the look of that. I am in want mode. :thumbsu:

Also interesting to see at the end of that some highlights and comments about Barrel's man Reece, who Petracca also played basketball with and seems to know pretty well. He described Reece as a "competitive beast" and they also mentioned that he runs 3 seconds for the 20m sprint, which is very handy indeed for someone of his dimensions!

Petracca said that he recorded about a 2.96sec for the 20m himself earlier in the year at the AIS testing, as well as testing in the top 1% for agility.

If we manage to somehow pull another pick within the top 5 I would almost think taking Petracca at number 1 then use the next pick on the best available KPF would be the best course of action.

I think the highest (meaning not very high at all) chance we have of getting another top 5 pick would come from a PP, in which case it would be picks 1 and 2 and we could just have McCartin and Petracca. Then we could just stop talking about which we would prefer.

Keitel, bid on Hammelmann if we're desperate, Tom Lamb, there's not much else in that range (Unc will say McKenzie).

Don't suppose anyone is heading out Preston way and feels like swinging past the Preston City Oval to check out the Knights v Oakleigh?

I was all set to go until a mate I haven't seen in the flesh in two years made a surprise arrival in town.
