We need to create team unity for our boys and not get rid of players when they have value.

Plus with Lenny being our best player again last night i think we need the best mids available in the up coming draft.

I think it would be a pretty safe bet that most of our current 25+ year old players with currency would realise that for the right price the club will let them go. I don't think this would impact team unity as they would have to realise that that is just the position the club finds itself in and that it will do whatever it takes to rebuild the list into a premiership winning team. The players will do whatever it takes on the field, the club will do whatever it takes off the field. If they start trading our kids all over the place then I think we can start worrying about team unity.

We aren't looking to improve short term performance but instead are focusing on what the team will be like in 3+ years. If securing a great key forward for the next 10 years weakens our midfield for the next 2-3 years then that is an acceptable price to pay. Mids develop quicker and are easier to find, so we can leave them a little bit longer before we really stock up on them. After this year we will still have 2-3 years of top 10 picks to load up on mids.

Well if you had posted it I would believe it was made up, nothing personal but you aren't exactly in the loop over there in beautiful Perth.

i'm not. dont pretend to be. dont waste my time inventing rumors

Wow, some interesting lists here.
According so some of you we may as well cut up our memberships, burn our jumpers and accept that never again will we be a top team.
The question I would ask is why wouldn't you come to St Kilda? Once Roo retires we will need a new alpha dog, a new king pin, a new hero and superstar who will be paid accordingly to build our reputation, marketing and whole club around.
There is a chance for someone to be the new Roo, in sports mad Melbourne, by the bay, playing out if an amazing stadium in the city, away from the dump and all that goes with GWS, and you'll be paid mega bucks to do it.....where do I sign???

And if you come to us now you get to play with Roo for a couple years and learn from one of the best to ever play the game.

BTW, there is no way we pay $7 mill, no chance. I don't think money would be the issue, you couldn't pay me a million or more a year to live in GWS.

None of that at all, but let's be honest, who told you about Goddard, Watters etc and was shouted down by Defacto and co? In fact I had crap slung at me for 12 months about Watters......

If I wanted to make up a rumour I reckon I could expand my mind and post something a little bigger than someone who won't re-sign indicating an interest in coming to our club.

If we take BS at face value - and I see no reason not to - for giving up Pick #1, which lets face it, will probably be Petracca is current rumour is solid as per GWS' man-love for him, I'd ideally want a pick back as well; their compo pick (#20) is probably a stretch, but #22 wouldn't be too far would it?

So, Pick #1 for Cameron and #22, which puts us in the frame (with #21) for two of your Weller/Duggan/Garlett/Capiron/Menadue/Blakey types... Or perhaps a chance to take an early punt on someone with elite skills who's projected to go a bit later, say Urban, Wigg, Vojo-Rainbow or Webb...

Get a 10yr KPF, who's already a star and two bright young mids? Yes please.

Again I'll be the party pooper. If we were to get Cameron, we'd be giving something in addition to pick 1, not getting something extra.

Yeah, most likely the case. Doesn't mean I wouldn't hope for the other possibility.

It's supposed to be a pretty even draft, sure, but giving up Pick #1 is a massive price.

I'd take a proven gun over a potential gun any day. Especially when it's a KPF vs a mid.

We really need the Dees to get over the line today... if they lose then they're a big chance to finish below us & put us 2 picks further back
I wouldn't worry about the Dees, they're miles ahead of us on percentage... It's the Brions that are a problem, their percentage is as equally rats**t as ours and if they go down today and we salute for Lenny against the Dogs things will get very interesting...

I dont really mind if Bris finish lower, they'll likely take Paddy or Wright...if we keep our 1st pick Id rather have the option of taking either one of them or CP.

If Melb finish lower, get a compo pick then that will be 2 of them gone.

Don't stress... Cameron will make it all better :P

Something like Armitage + #1 for Cameron and GWS' 2nd round selection would be what I would propose, considering that GWS might not even use that pick (they'd use pick 1, 3 and 19).

Wow Melbourne are bad, so next week it's the tanking Giants vs The Demons who couldn't play any worse if they tanked! We play the Dogs who haven't scored in the first 15 mins in the "Lenny match"......
So the obvious question now is...if Melb get pick 1 and 2, why wouldn't GWS send JC to Melb for both picks? Then they get Petracca and Wright.

Make that 6 in a row to the Lions! Jesus, Melbourne are a dead-set basket case... At least we can say we bottomed out after a period of (relative) success, they didn't even have one of those...
