I reckon if you took that trade to Freo they would say go away and come back when your serious
Agree, we're talking about one of the best players in the comp here. Two unknowns wouldn't get the job done.

Like anything it would depend on the cost, but knowing Ross Lyon he'd just let Fyfe walk into the preseason draft.

Hope your right it would be worth tanking for:D

I have never known why Fyfe receives the attention he does as I think he's slightly overrated, but I would trade a top 3 pick and Acres for Fyfe in a heartbeat.

Yes, this is very true.

There's not much l wouldn't give up to get Fyfe, Acres and round 1 pick?

Why didn't you suggest something else instead that i could respond too? :p

I was only using the Acres/Round 1 pick response to your one above.

If we're talking worst case scenario - Fyfe demanding to leave. I'm not sure Fremantle would be too depressed with Pick 1-3 (especially considering it's a good draft for talls) and a highly rated 19yo from WA.

Clubs have definitely been rorted for less.

Yes, this is very true.
That's not to say at the end of the season if we have a top 4 pre-season pick this trade wouldn't happen.
If Fyfe was to put in a heavily front ended contract that we should be able to handle ie 1mill first year, Freo might have to take it or he walks.

I put Acres up because who knows if he is going to do a Cripps

cripps was a disaster that showed its self straight after he was drafted. absolute disaster that i think (someone probably knows better than i) finally meant the end of peake

Great day for me when John Peake left. He is a big big reason we did so poorly in the drafts, (yes yes I know we didn't get low picks but still could have picked out better players who could have at least been a GOP (Good Ordinary Player)). I'm sure Ross Lyon had a big say but ul;timately it rests with the head recruiter who was Peake. The last straw was when the club didn't know that our first pick Cripps had asthma - where was the due diligence? The pillock left with his tail between his legs and toddled back to Geelong to be an assistant again. Good riddance :mad::thumbsdown::mad::mad:

(And yes the regulars know it is my pet hate and I always bite on this subject :p:D:p)

Oh yes and it is no coincidence how well we have drafted since then with he trading of picks for additional players and using the picks we had. Bains and Trout Elshaugh, (as well as the rest of the recruiting team) have done a great job and the last 3 years I have had 100% confidence in the choices they made, (perhaps they could have got a tall defender a year earlier but you got to think they tried but couldn't tee something up that both parties would have been happy with)!!

Setting us up nicely after a bumper trade period late 2013!! We killed it in the draft IMO and that will bear fruit in years to come. Loving their work...

Bwahahaha!! Yes it was diabetes - geez can't even get it right when I get on my soapbox!! I am the weakest link, goodbye:oops::oops:

If a player's out of contract, their value takes a serious hit. All a matter of circumstance, if Fyfe nominated us that'd be a generous offer. As the Filth showed with Ball if a player wants to get to a club ways can be found

I'd like to think that was a one-off. But kids demanding a trade home seems to be all the rage these days so hopefully the club can do everything they can to keep him happy and wanting to stay at the club.
So far so good I believe, I hear that he absolutely loves it over here. :thumbsu:
