Each to their own, but I really hope someone better than Ellis is at 21 & macdonald at 22 is to much of a reach.
If you want a key back just grab Nielson at 41.
100% agree, Nielson is bloody good and should be available at 41 (underated imo), Mcdonald would be a reach at 21 and it think we could find someone better value.

KM's latest tinkering has us taking Petracca (#1), Ellis (#21), Blakely (#22) and James Rose (#41)...

Gotta say, I'd be bitterly disappointed with that haul; what about you troops?

Players we pass on:
#25 - Connor Menadue (NM)
#26 - Reece McKenzie (WB)
#27 - Dillon Viojo-Rainbow (WB)
#28 - Alex Neal-Bullen (Carl.)
#30 - Ed Vickers-Willis (Coll.)
#33 - Touk Miller (Haw.)
#35 - Brayden Maynard (Adel.)
#43 - Keenan Ramsey (Adel.)
#52 - Lukas Webb (Rich.)

Knowing what you'll get is exactly why I'm not interested. I don't mind mature depth if we're contending but the time for those types has passed. Would prefer to find a 19/20 year old or some state league key defender depth, I'm just not a big fan of playing it safe with guys who have already shown they're not good enough.
Like what I saw in the videos of Pretrenko. Burn a rookie spot why not.
Remember the rookies are taken after all clubs have a swing at 100 odd players. They can all be budding champions at that stage, we were spoilt with Eli. Leave one spot for a slider from the draft and fill up with what the club desperately needs 24-26 year old hard bodied players.

There is no doubt we need to get time into Acres, Eli, Markworth, Wright White and the 2014 draftees, but if they get injured as they will we need some back up what better than GOP. Worked with Marverick did it not.....

As for Petrenko, Adelaide does not give out jumper 23 to a hack, just like we do not do it for 3,4 and now 7 Lennieeeeee!!! Playing in the forward pocket is the hardest spot on the field its feast or famine and an opportnist you must be look at Milney. Never saw Milney lack a tackle like Petrenko. Not the worst decision to draft him I say and take McKernan as well! If he plays okay we get pick 21 as a bonus maybe even Barrell's boy McKenzie!!!!

The boys are back! Training has begun for 1-4yr players this morning.
Jeremy Taylor (ex Gold Coast) is also training with us. He joins:
Petrenko
McKernan
Cam Banfield(Sandy VFL)
Elliot LeGrice(Sandy VFL)
Jack Noone (Sandy VFL)
Kenny Ong (Sandy VFL)
.....and Tim Membrey of course!

Good to see LeGrice training with us from Sandy. Gives us a first hand look at him training with the Saints boys

I'm not sold on Ellis at all. Rose I know nothing about so selecting him would be underwhelming. Blakely on the other hand would be a good selection as a bonafide midfielder and one of the better ones of the draft. He's performed well at senior wafl level as well as the u18 champs. Absolutely underrated with many Vic kids ahead of him for god knows what reason.

For those interested;

Kenny Ong: 20, 179cm 73kg
Lightning quick and elusive small forward/mid. Loves a tackle despite his slim frame.

Cam Banfield: 20, 183cm 76kg
Hard at it midfielder. Defensive efforts a highlight.

Jack Noone: 19, 184cm 78kg
Don't know much about Jack, but was selected in the 2014 VFL Young Guns game, so is no mug.

Elliot Le Grice: 19, 195cm 90kg
Overlooked last year as a leading forward, made a home at CHB for Sandy. Rarely beaten against experienced opposition. Athletic for a big lad.

Jeremy Taylor: 22, 191cm 90kg
Tall running defender who likened himself to Brendon Goddard when drafted. Good skills and elite endurance apparently, but only played 10 games in three years at the Suns.

Would love Le Grice, Taylor, McKernan and Schneider on the rookie list this year.

I think it gives us scope to give Le Grice a good crack at it from the rookie list and the ability to upgrade the others if they perform this coming year, giving us room for more rooks next year :)

Don't know anything about Taylor as a player

No games for Taylor since 2012?

Injured or just a spud?

Knightmare just released a new draft order that has the Pies taking McKenzie at 5. You should see the description he gives, it would make Uncle Barrels look conservative. Thinks he has the potential to be the best player in the draft.

Surely we have to take Mckenzie # No.1 now and hope Petracca slides to 21 :)

KM is very, very bullish on McKenzie there.

What I find really weird though is that in his phantom draft he has us skipping him with 21 and 22 and taking two mids. Why wouldn't we take him with those picks if he is there and we rate him? Even if we rate a mid marginally better than McKenzie surely we take him for the need?

I've been on the Petracca+McKenzie bandwagon for a while now so I really hope we get him at 21/22.

Ended up with Kelly, Dumont and Lewy Taylor for the Saints last year, Petracca and Lachie Weller (and Viojo-Rainbow, McLaren, Langdon) earlier this year, hoping to replicate something like that!

Marchbank should be available.
I agree that Marchbank "should" be available but would they downgrade to 14 unless they were 100% certain? I don't think so. I believe whoever they have their eye on is from lower in the draft.

He's a Collingwood supporter, enough said. Would be very happy if they take him at 5, would allow another very good player to slip to us
