Maybe it comes back to what BrianSpeaking said. Lewis Pierce is the future. They see stanly only as Fwd/Ruck and think Longer/Pierce will be better.

How'd you feel when we traded Ben? Rhys has shown even less

I was pumped when we traded McEvoy, he was a known commodity and very very replaceable. We don't know what Rhys is going to be yet, still could be a genuine gun and has shown glimpses that he could tear a game apart. McEvoy will never be dominant. Also, we know that the ruck/forward rule is much harder to replace than a straight first ruckmen type. I am staggered that some think Longer and Hickey could actually ever be dangerous up forward. These 2 will never be able to play in the same side.

At this years Nationals, even though he was out injured, virtually every AFL club inquired about him with NT Officials. He was a hot topic of discussion and interest, even though not playing and no form to catch their attention. Seen by many as an AFL player. NT Officials speculate he will go in the first round of the draft.

Personally I am amazed that some on here are saying they were fine wit the Mac trade last year.

From what I remember the Saints were roundly critisised for the trade.

Not only that Mac is now a PREMIERSHIP RUCKMAN.

But people are happier with that trade than one where we stick to our drafting strategy and we lose an underperforming forward who was a mid #50's pick?

I meant the acquisition of Pettracca will have you rethinking the comment about cancelling memberships.
Pettracca is a gun, and barring some last minute madness, he will be a Saint.
The only way we will trade pick #1 is if the Griffen deal falls over and GWS give us #4 & #7, otherwise we will be keeping #1.
