Also, according to South Freo's development manager (quoted in Inside Football), we've shown particular interest in Haiden Schloithe, a 21yr old 184cm 82kg midfielder who was formerly on Fremantle's list.

Won the B&F for the Bulldogs this year. Described as a lightning fast tackling machine.

Petrenko, Schloithe.... I think Richo is trying to add some speed...

If the interest was that strong you'd get him training with us surely.

Maybe, but maybe not. Can't have everyone training with us.

Same reason he rates De Goey (I do too).
Even think someone else here rates him Rahul
I hope we get De Goey at 5.

Sorry mate im a little lost...

I read your previous post as Brian rating Miller because of who Miller went to school with.

Am I on the right track?

Bit hard if he's playing WAFL and working over there.

I think pick 1 should be used for a slider from the draft (hopefully someone we rated top 30 again) and the rest w/e. I assume Le Grice would be 2nd or 3rd rd.

On Le grice is their any word outside of BF that he is inconsideration?

Training with us is the only other thing.

Plenty of Sandy players have trained with us though and we've selected not one of them so i reckon it'll be the same this year with the ones training with us.

Graduated from the Joel Selwood Academy...

But yeah, averaged 23.65 possessions per game, which is pretty solid in a team that came 7th of 9.

Emma Q said in a tweet that we still haven't decided who we are taking with pick 1.

Let's not forget Viv Michie dominated the Wafl last year.
Not saying he floats my boat... Just that the Dev Manager specifically names us in IF.

I view Langford as a Birchall type (if he can't develop an inside game), who has better marking ability, but not quite as
good a kick but still very very good. Still can pinch hit on the wing in any case.

Duggan can make it as an inside/outside mid in my view, has all the tools, moves well through packs,
great spacial awareness and a super kick.

I'll be disappointed if Langford is like a Birchall and only pinch hits on the wing... Should become a talented midfielder, like a Bontempelli.

I've been saying for months now that we should be looking at him. He's exactly what we need. He's:
A) extremely hard at it. Loves a tackle. Loves a bump
B) wins his own ball. Loves get in there and extract it
C) he's quick. Saw him burn off hilderbrant at subi, which isn't easy
D) knows how to kick a goal. Funny that someone posted the ducking picture. He certainly quacks. Something that I didn't find amusing against subi

Would be a good rookie get!!!!

This. It's rare that WAFL players train interstate. It's more likely they train with the dockers and eagles for the reasons you mentioned

South were poor this year... Then they sacked haselby and looked amazing. They smashed the eventual premiers late in the season. Something I didn't enjoy on a cold Friday night

Admittedly we had 3 of our best players out but still they owned us.

Schlothies run down the wings that night were pretty epic. Looked like a slightly taller blonder much quicker Brett Voss

Anyone remember if Clint jones trained with us before we got him?

Valid point but they are two completely different players

Never saw banfield at wce dominate WAFL back in the day (he was pretty shite actually) but he was still a pretty good afl player

Likewise Haydn Ballantine was pretty handy in the WAFL and was able to go up a notch at the highest level

All you can do is look at their form in a positive light then look at what makes them a good player to see if they are suited for AFL. Personally I think his combo of speed and hardness will mean he has a chance, unlike others who can only receive and run
