Seeing we can hear crickets and see tumbleweeds blowing past our board at the moment, why don't we fire up the old draft comp? You don't need to be a draft expert to win this - if you're not familiar with any of the kid's names then just choose your favourite name or the equivalent of Prince of Penzance - hey, it worked in the Melbourne Cup so why not here? (One quick tip - don't use the names Weitering or Schache - they won't be like Fame Game in the Cup and fall down the bloody order - not that I'm talking through my hip pocket at all.....).
For those who haven't been following the draft - this year it's different - our picks of 65,76,83 and 87 will magically become picks in the mid to late 50's - good huh! If you want to know why the answer is "because".
So as we don't know the exact number our picks will be taken at, we will use a very original and highly imaginative idea and call them "our first pick", "our second pick", "our third pick" etc.
5 points will be given to the correct player assigned to the correct pick, 3 points given to a player drafted at the incorrect pick and 1 point given for just filling out the entry correctly (we shall call this an encouragement point).
So I'll get the ball rolling:
Our first pick - Tom Doedee
Our second pick - Sam Skinner
Our third pick - Declan Mountford
Our fourth pick - Jock Cornell
Just remember that the draft commences tomorrow evening at 5.30pm (Tuesday 24th) so get your entries in quickly.
