I'm aware of the constitution - it needs to be changed if they are serious about having true member representation. How much havoc can 1 member have on a board. Not having/expecting any change for 20 years would be a joke. Also, as a lawyer you should know if the rules are silly, you lobby to change them rather than just accept them!

Just double checked, the precise date is 31 October 2028. Until that time 'this constitution may not be amended in any way unless the relevant amendment has been approved by the AFL in its absolute discretion. Each resolution seeking or approving an amendment to this constitution will by virtue of this clause be conditional on the approval of the AFL.'

Cutting through the legal jargon, if AFC want to change the constitution within reason, they could! ;)

Just reading the Election Rules:

"5. NOMINATIONS
The Club must call for nominations during the nomination period by notice published:
(a) in The Advertiser newspaper, at least one advertisement during each week of the nomination period; and"

Ha - it would be the only thing the Crows give them all year

Heck after I win the 1.3 billion dollars on Wednesday I will buy the team and the board composition will be the least of everyone's worries. ;)

Who doesn't want a crazy foreigner who never played the game running the show? :p

See, I made everyone feel better already...you are welcome! :)

You could buy Essendon too as going on the cheap, then trade their best players to us in 2017 ;)

ROD JAMESON RE-ELECTED TO CROWS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Premiership player Rod Jameson has been re-elected to the Adelaide Football Club’s Board of Directors on a two-year term.

There was one position open for eligible Members to contest and at the close of nominations last Friday, Jameson was the only nomination received.

Current financial Crows Members were able to put themselves forward with an independently-run election to be held if required.

Jameson has a wealth of football experience and is currently employed as an Adelaide-based Business Director at the Childhood Cancer Association.

He sits on the Club’s Finance and Heritage committees, as well as overseeing the formation of the Past Players and Officials Board which he now Chairs.

The former defender is also part of the Inaugural Hall of Fame Committee and has been on the Crows Children’s Foundation Board since 2010.

Jameson said it was a privilege to continue serving the Club.

“The Adelaide Football Club is and will continue to be a significant part of my life,” Jameson said.

“I have been involved in one way or another since day one and the unwavering support provided by our loyal Members and fans has been nothing short of extraordinary.

“We have made significant improvements and progress across all parts of the organisation but there is a great deal more to be done as we work collaboratively towards a premiership.”

Crows Chairman Rob Chapman said the Board of Directors nomination and election process was important as it gave Members a voice.

“Rod has an extensive football and business background and boasts passion for the Club that few can match,” Chapman said.

“Our Board has a well-rounded skillset and a great deal has been achieved in the past 18 months, and there is a lot to be excited about this year and beyond.”

Adelaide’s Board of Directors are Rob Chapman (Chairman), Jim Hazel, Bob Foord, Andrew Payze, Kate Gould, Mark Ricciuto, Rod Jameson, Linda Fellows and Andrew Fagan.

Chairman Rob Chapman is overseas and unavailable for comment.

I hope that the current board sees this for the indictment on them that it is. I sincerely hope that they don't see this as a win but rather very disappointing that the way they went about the last vote has resulted in not a single member, regardless of how talented, viewing it as worthwhile to lobby for a member elect spot. I hope that this is not a permanent policy of the board and that they will not continue to put up a single ex-player or other well known candidate at every election. I understand the need to get some time between this board and their own involvement in the Trigg debacle before an unknown comes in. Certainly wouldn't want anyone not 'on side' asking to view board minutes from that period of shame.

Well, so long as the Members had a voice. And they used it, claiming that running was pointless.

How Chapman told them, if he's overseas, I'm not sure.

It was in last week.

This year's process was fine.

It's last year's that sucked.
Last years process caused this. Good luck running against Roo next year.

Though to be fair, the clubs had s pretty strong 12 months. There's no mood for change. I think if we had a Trigg of a year, someone might have put their hand up.
