On Draft day we would be like me on a pay day going into a casino.
More like heading into the casino after you've pawned all your belongings...

Anyone know where Keays and Hipwood are playing at the minute? Not in the 2's and there are no QLD games so just curious

What do you think the chances of Carlton taking Weitering instead of Schache are?

I reckon we need to stay below GC. If we take Dixon from them then they will go for Schache

GC should and most probably beat us. Carlton should be interesting but if we win it will be %. We do play Hawthorn the week after Carlton in Launceston and make of it what you will. Plus they Melbourne.

Schache with another 5 goals today!

24 over 6 @ champs
22 over 6 @ TAC

Not bad at all.

Karl Brown another who bagged 6. Was added to Metro's U18's side before getting injured. I've got him pegged as a late first rounder - mid second. Thought he could seriously have pushed top 15 if not for the injury.

Joshua Schache probably the best tall forward in the draft as it stands. 8 goals from 2 games in the TAC Cup with a bag of 7 in one of the games.

Others will start announcing themselves as they usually do. For example, Karl Brown was added to Vic Metro's U18's side this year after booting 8 goals in a TAC Cup game. Big body, leadership potential and a good contested mark. Had some injury problems last year and missed a fair chunk of this years pre season.

And well to be honest, it'd be nice seeing another Brown in the side as a tall forward!

Yeah I agree. Spoon is out of Carlton and ourselves. Both would take Schache, I'm certain of that.
I wouldnt put it past GC as well either. They played well this week but they aren't without 5 of their best midfielders and looks like Thomson could be out as well.

Carlton I think depends on Henderson, if he goes and where they plan to play him. It would seem Weitering is the better of the two but high quality key forwards are harder to find especially with later picks.

The GC just played out a draw with the number 2 team in the competition without their 5 best midfielders. They should roll us easily.

Still think the spoon is ours if we lose the QClash.

We seem to have more painful percentage games than the Blues. They play the Demons and the currently inept Pies. Even if they don't win those games, they shouldn't be horrendous blowouts. We have to face the Hawks, Crows and Bulldogs who have all shown they put up big tallies on rabble teams.

Even if we beat Carlton, I can't see their percentage being below ours at the end of the season unless they do some investigation warranting tanking.

Looks like each of the bottom 3 teams have 2 winnable games.

We have Gold Coast and Carlton, Gold Coast also have Essendon and Carlton have Melbourne.

I still don't think Gold Coast and Carlton will win another game.

Agree, and as much as I don't want to win the spoon. I've had a gut full of year after year finishing with a wet sail with wins that amount to nothing but lesser draft picks. (who still go home).

If Port are out of the finals race, I think the Suns are more than capable of rolling them at Metricon. And did you watch the Bombers play tonight?

FFS you are that negative about everything but think we can beat Carlton and the Suns all because you are being negative about us not getting Schache. Incredible

I don't think that made sense.

If Gold Coast are good enough to draw against West Coast. They are good enough to draw their last 6 games.

Negative?

I think even without Beams we'll have a better 22 named for both of those games. We've been under performing but not as bad as those 2. Suns have been ruined by injury and Carlton are being Carlton.

We should beat Carlton but I will be stunned if we can beat the Suns. They have a lot of injuries and still have more talent on the park than us.

Forward & Back they have targets / talent. Our backs are developing, our forwards haven't had much of a run. I'd expect them to be way more efficient in their forward entries.

There seems so much for all three clubs to play for. Or...not play for.

I can't help but cheer for the Lions and now find myself cheering for Gold Coast and Carlton...but not when we play them.

Strange, strange times.

I think I will simply hope we play well, be competitive and leave the results in the lap of the gods.

The amount of games we've gone into this year where I thought "wow, that 22 looks pretty damn good..."

Suns still have quality at both ends. If we keep turning it over at will (which seems to be our MO at the moment)... Lynch and Dixon will kick 12 between them.
