We already know how good schache is. But with Francis he could be anything from a nat fyfe type of midfielder or running backman who can kick goals there is a lot to work with there and would be a great get and genuinely interests me as a prospect.![]()

No you don't get to pick which picks. It's just the next one.do you have to match academy points with your next available pick first?
Eg. If we had 20,25,35 and 25,35 was enough to match could we retain 20 and use that on best available?
Also From a pure points perspective trading aish for pick20 would give us 912 (enough to match a pick 16 bid) points and trading him for pick 37 and 38 would give us 911 points. So any combination of picks better than 37+38 gets us more points than 20. (Hell a combo of 31 and 47 is more points than pick 20)
Yes trade week will be interesting. If a northern club had multiple Academy prospects they're looking to take, it might be better to stock up on multiple mid-range picks as opposed to single higher pick (with the intention of using points to match bids):
1. as John_Proctor pointed out above, same number of points for pick 20 and 37+38. Most clubs would be happier taking pick 20 to the draft, so there's potentially bonus points to be had through trading
2. avoid possibility of missing out on prospects due to "under-bidding" - for example we think both Keays and Hipwood are top 20 selections so acquire pick 18 to help pay for them. As it turns out the highest bid is pick 19 - so we're therefore unable to use pick 18 to buy our Academy players - we end up taking an extra player and go into significant deficit for the following year.

As a rough guide if we lose all our next 3 games by 10 goals and Carlton lose all theirs by only 5 goals they will still finish below us.It seems decided in my view.
Yeah, unless Carlton show some pride and integrity and manage to beat Melbourne.

I don't think Silvagni will be ticking that off.The Dees are $1.48,might be a good time to take 50k out of my super..Yeah, unless Carlton show some pride and integrity and manage to beat Melbourne.
If this helped us get dixon then yes, if it dosent then keep martinDon't think it was a rumour more at just a musing on his behalf but Gary Lyon mentioned on footy classified last night about how complimentary Stef martin would be to their game style and midfield. And suggested the dogs were going to push hard again this year to load up and try to open a premiership window.
Maybe if they are really ready to push up Martin for their first rounder - would be roughly 13-15

He landed heavily on he's ankle during a marking contest. Ankle problems or not the incident will cause anyone player to miss.I'm completely off Dixon. Those ankles don't seem to be any good.

Damien Barrett *cough*grainofsalt*cough* on Triple M tonght saying that Brisbane are locked to get Shache no matter if we get pick 1, 2 or effectively even 3. Says "Shache is happy to go to brisbane" wheras Weitering does not want to come to us and Carlton want him over Shache anyway.
Also later said Gold Coast will not take Weitering or Shache if they finish bottom 2, they do not want talls.
