The one thing we know for sure about Scott Clayton - in the drafts other than 2010 where he did seem to target a few positions like ruck and defender - is that he will take who he thinks is likely to be the best player and if that is a key position player like 2MP or Jack Leslie than so be it.

I had thought for a while that we needed more runners but it is hard to judge given the injuries. But now I think we should get the best players and sort out the rest later.

There is so much untapped running talent on the list that need a hard and largely uninterrupted preseason. It seems that a few were just not working hard enough but they won't be able to keep that up now.

He's a dangerous small forward, really good hands. He is nowhere near a mid though, no pace and no endurance. 15 goals in 8 games against stronger opposition this year is a worry.

If we lose Charlie, then we need a pick around 7-8 in return for Blake's teamate Sam Weideman, Burton or Curnow if he falls that low. Allows us the best mid in the draft and also a dangerous 3rd tall forward.

Not so sure - Thompson has been non existent this season - I'd be going key back -Weitering...

Not surprising at all. Basically exactly what the club has already said.

It's pretty obvious that picks one and two are going to be Schache and Weitering, in whichever order. What isn't obvious though, is which players will go at picks 3, 4, 5, 6, etc.

With speculation mounting than the best available player at pick three actually being a midfielder, we would be taking the best possible player anyway.

I'm pretty keen on another gun mid tbh. Even if we got pick 2, I'd rather a mid.

They might really want Francis or Parish. Only way to be sure to get either of them would be pick 2-3
