I don't have a huge problem with the better teams copping a difficult draw. But Hawthorn and Geelong have won premierships in the recent past. Anyone would think we're the reigning premier with the fixture we've been handed. The reality is we didn't even finish top 4 at the end of the minor round.

One of the 4 categories that suggests Hawthorn and Geelong have it much harder than us is "Home v interstate". Hawthorn's and North's Tassie games are not included as home games. What a load of crock. Maybe North don't have much of an advantage yet but the Hawks have definitely made Tassie a stronghold.
Although on how the difficulty of the draw itself is worked out the Hawks probably have a harder or just as hard draw as us, they have a clear advantage in their 9 MCG games to our 1. That showed in the preliminary when we attacked in the first quarter in the most difficult scoring side. From the section I was sitting in I could easily pick out what was happening and Hawthorn never once attacked at the angle we did. Just 10 degrees of extra angle on the shot made it nearly impossible.

As it was with Port in the SANFL, extra games at the finals venue can be critical in knowledge of how it plays.

Not sure what their problem is over the other side of Port Road but there are regular articles on the AFL website which gush over PAFC.

A bugger of a draw in terms of games I'm going to be able to get to. With so many night games, it's going to be really hard to go to more than a couple for the season with a baby at home. Guess my TV will be getting a workout next year. Oh well, with not having to fork out for the overpriced food and drink at the game, I should be able to save enough to fly over to Melbourne for that One Day in October.

Sorry for the intrusion, but I agree with your point re excluding our Tassie games, I think Hawks have won 11 of our last 12 there, which is as good, if not better, than our home games at the G. Generally the fixture always creates great discussion by all clubs every year and I whilst I think Port has a tough 2015 fixture, in balance you guys missed the Grand Final by a kick and your draw reflects that accordingly.
