The draw is probably as good as we could have hoped for. Need to come out swinging in those first 5 games, 3-2 at the very least. I don't buy into the idea that 6 day breaks hurt you, not when you consider we've shown to beat teams on 6 day breaks before (see Port vs Freo in the semi last year). That being said, our 6 day breaks have us playing Sydney, Melbourne, Geelong, Essendon, Bulldogs and Hawthorn. I'd be expecting to win at least 4 of those.

What I hate about this draw is just the 1 match at the MCG. Hawthorn at Etihad? Are you serious AFL? 4 primetime (Thursday/Friday night) games whilst Richmond have an incredible 7 Friday night games, Collingwood with 6 plus a thursday night game. I don't mind having games at Etihad cuz I am so close that I could probably piss on the stadium from my apartment but it's a shame that we can't get more games at the G especially considering how well we travel. Oh well, I just hope we have one additional game at the G on the last day of the season :)

Stoked with our draw next year.

10 night games, 2 friday night games and 2 thursday night. 3 Saturday night games and we rid ouselves of that sh*tty saturday afternoon timeslot at home.

Tough start, but we will be fine if we are switched on. We are certainly good enough.

Bring on 2015!!

Bloody North Melbourne don't come here again.
Worst part of it IMO. Tough start, but if we're 3-3 or better after 6 rounds then top 2 is a good chance still.

Bloody North though. I'd trade a Friday night game for a Sunday Arvo. against them at AO. I want to smash them to pieces here, not play at Etihad yet again against them.

Toughest fixture we've ever had IMO. Start with 5 really tough ones, end with 3. Barely any soft away games throughout the season.

Gotta win them if we're good enough, but the fixture hasn't done us any favours footy-wise.

As a whiny bitch who hates heat and direct sunlight, I am over the moon that our first two home matches are night games. :thumbsu:

3 Friday night games....as top of the table, we deserve Round 23 on Friday night.....at Adelaide Oval.....;)

I actually hope that the final game of the regular season is on a Saturday so we can have a week's break from coming back from the Gold Coast. That being said, another Friday night game isn't going to hurt :)

This is a great fixture with some great home timeslots and blockbusters, and some truly appetising games to travel for.

It's the draw and the exposure good sides get. I'm wrapped. Thursday nights work for me and most people in the city or close proximity we will get 50+ and if it goes well they can bring quality teams over to play us on a Thursday night as often as they like in 2016. Adelaide is very much a Saturday night town there's nothing going on anywhere during the week give people somewhere to go and a reason to go they will show up.

check out R14-R15!! two Thursday night blockbusters in a row!!!

only one game at the MCG... have to get to that, Saturday night against Carlton!

playing Geelong once, and in Adelaide? didn't we do that last year too? ****ing beautiful. how many years in a row did we go down there? payback time.

Hawthorn v Port at Etihad on a Friday night? **** off!! would love to see them give us the G for that one and see how well we travel over.

Port Adelaide = HUGE CLUB

does everyone only get 1 bye next season? everyone got two last, right?

As opposed to this year when you only played one 2013 finalist in first 5 rounds (and that was a side that made 2013 finals by default - Carlton). Swings and roundabouts.
Now we only have one 2014 non-finalist in the first 5 rounds (gee, I wonder who that is).

Great draw not just for where we are heading as a football club but also to light up the eyes of current and potential sponsors.

Pros
2 Thursday night games (1 home, 1 away)
2 Friday night games (1 home, 1 away)
No Saturday afternoon home games
Play our last game at home and if Fremantle and Port finish in the top 4 it will probably be a Friday night match.
9 matches broadcasted nationally
Hawthorn ANZAC night match
Double ups against Hawthorn, Fremantle, Sydney will be a great challenge
Double ups against Western Bulldogs and Adelaide will be a good opportunity to secure 4 wins
Home night games 5
Away night games 5
Home twilight 2
Away twilight 4

cons
Hard away games
Hard first 5 rounds
Hawthorn at Etihad WTF?
Only one MCG game and 4 Etihad games

Richmond and Carlton gifted a bunch of Friday night matches so undeserving.

Thursday night footy can eat a bag. Not playing Norf in Adelaide for the third year in a row can eat a bigger one. I really want us to smash those campaigners.
