good question, I think 16 teams is ok, but 18 is too many. My personal view is that if the AFL were so set on expansion they may have been better off getting one of the smaller Vic clubs like Norf or the Doggies to relocate. I'm still not convinced that GWS or the Suns will make it. GWS probably have a better chance in the long run because of the larger population in western Sydney, provided they can attract enough new fans to the game.
You mean off the field in terms of crowd numbers/membership etc?
Because on-field there is multiple flags within that group.
Suns/Brisbane are in huge trouble.

Hey, maybe we might be able to get a seat this year without taking out a bank loan!!! Could even scrape a win for once.Looks like Sydney isn't the only fickle market

Despite coming off one of the most successful eras in AFL/VFL history, Cats’ average home crowd numbers have fallen almost 5000 a game on their average attendances from 2013.
Colin Sylvia retired. Interestingly, Freo don't have to include any part of his contract in their 2016 cap.
That's bullshit, he didn't retire, he was pushed, was not up to Ross's standard

How can one rule be different per player and club?
So if Franklin breaks down and can't play in his final few years we will still have to pay out his contract in the cap?
Because it was a specific condition of them agreeing to his deal. We knew exactly what the terms were.
The AFL has confirmed that the Swans must include Franklin's contract terms in each of the nine years of the contract, irrespective of how long he plays.
The amounts would remain in those particular years even if they paid him a massive lump sum early.
