good question, I think 16 teams is ok, but 18 is too many. My personal view is that if the AFL were so set on expansion they may have been better off getting one of the smaller Vic clubs like Norf or the Doggies to relocate. I'm still not convinced that GWS or the Suns will make it. GWS probably have a better chance in the long run because of the larger population in western Sydney, provided they can attract enough new fans to the game.

You mean off the field in terms of crowd numbers/membership etc?

Because on-field there is multiple flags within that group.

Suns/Brisbane are in huge trouble.

Yep I meant off the field. On the field for sure, they have a lot of talent in that list. But they still don't have much of a supporter base here, a lot of Sydneysiders probably don't even know they exist.

Was talking to a local footy coach today whinging there should be 12 teams.

I can see relocation but cant see teams lost

But then again you see teams like Brisbane and Stkilda who Are basically broke

There are some low skilled blokes getting a game too, games would be better was his argument

He does go for a lot of one liners

Said by the man who posted two one liners about my one line...

Lot of one liners here Couple got to two just

You are clever great man

While you here what do you think of Mick malthouse he is fox now because of breaking the record

Hows he compare to Jock Mchale?

You can't last that long if your no good. Have been involved at a club with Mick and don't like him, that was a fair while ago and the next time I still haven't changed my opinion. But his record is good and he has coached the filth to 50% of their flags in the last 60 years ! (2 lines)

Colin Sylvia retired. Interestingly, Freo don't have to include any part of his contract in their 2016 cap.

Wooooah what!

They have to pay it out though?

Will this rule apply if someone with a contract retires a little early at another club i wonder

That's bullshit, he didn't retire, he was pushed, was not up to Ross's standard

well, yes. the main reason I raised it was because people were discussing what it would mean for our cap if Buddy retired before the end of his 9 years.

So, one rule for others, one rule for us re: retirements. Banned from trading then "allowed" to trade for less than league average. Heeney pops up, and the goalposts are shifted to make us (and others, FS Northern academies, but still, no Heeney, no changes). Seems like a lot of effort to stifle us, and seems like a massive restriction of trade.
