Picked it.

Still think James should have taken it home, no one was as good as him over the finals.
Should have but was never going to happen. Cavs were robbed with their injuries, can't compete over 6 games with a 7 man rotation and Mike Miller's corpse specifically against one of the deepest teams in recent memory. Can you believe that David Lee is the highest paid player on that team?

He would have had a hefty contract coming over from the Knicks, so im not surprised.

Does Bogut still get a ring for doing SFA during the finals?

Andrew Gaze got one and I don't think he played more than 120 seconds for that entire season and wasn't even on their playoff roster.

Can you imagine if every player that played at least 1 sub affected Snr game for the AFL Premiers ALL got premiership medallions? Not sure if that would be a good or bad thing.

I'm just glad we haven't gone down the path of giving "rings" to people.

Some would deserve it though. I was gutted for Matty Egan in 07'. He deserved a medal, played every game, was AA and injured in the prelim, guys like that deserve a medal just as much as the guy that replaced them.

I agree, although I don't think someone that has played one quarter of football as the sub for the season should. Maybe if someone has played at least 14 games or something they are eligible for one.

Definitely. There's always one bloke who played all or nearly every game for the year only to be dropped for the GF for team balance, injury or suspension. I can name at least 15 of the top of my head from the last 25 years who were really stiff to miss out on a premiership medal that deserved one.

Ted Hopkins mite be an exception

no idea how many games he played during the season but was kinda handy (in a I'm the biggest campaigner in the world) kinda way

I think anyone that actually plays in the GF should be given a medal too.

Hopkins only played 1 more game after the 1970 GF before retiring. He played a total of 29 games and kicked 10 career goals, 4 of those goals coming in the 2nd half of the 1970 GF. :)

I just think that if a player made some kind of meaningful contribution to the teams success they should be rewarded for it. Not sure what the best way to fairly measure that would be, but you have to feel for guys that miss due to injury.

To loose out on a premiership because you got injured half way through the season would suck ass, you dont get many chances.

It really depends if the injured player is a campaigner or not, if it were someone like Lance Franklin, tough shit. Leaves Hawthorn for "more premierships", loses premiership to Hawthorn.

Yeah, pretty sure his paycheck helped ease the pain there, but it would have sucked to loose to Hawthorn like that.

Sucks to loose to Hawthorn anytime really though.

I'll just use Litherland from Hawthorn as an example. He played 13 games last year, most of those games were when the Hawks had heaps of injuries in defence. I would argue that they might not have finished top 2 if not for his contribution in those games and they might have had to play a qualifying interstate final that they might have lost and not won the flag as a result of that.

Yeah guys like that deserve a medal, not just the guys that played on the field for one game.

Im sure he was stoked that was put up, haha.

Wojo & Josh Hunt both made it over the fence easily, clearly they both should have had the better & longer careers than Enright purely due to their ability to climb chicken wire. :rainbow:
