Cornes' article and the subsequent reaction from Port sycophants is everything I hate about the SA rivalry. Any excuse to try and take a shit over our club and big note themselves. It always ends with some dig about us not being real supporters and not supporting a club that's a billion years old too:rolleyes:.

The main gist of it was based on recent events. Port's week was good but not earth shattering. They resigned three good players who were never going anywhere and a signing for a team that doesn't exist. They are good at making a big deal of these things though.

No one has overtaken anyone and both clubs are positioned pretty evenly. Both clubs can argue they are "number one" using different measures so neither club can say they're clearly, objectively number one.

It's all just a pointless dick-measuring contest anyway because the only true measure is premierships. Neither has won one of those lately. It's even until that time.
The only thing that matters is what happens on field and its 0-0

Having said that last time we played a season we were a far better side than them

#lolCornes is at it again! Stirring the pot by saying Port smash the Crows all year around by having 50,000+ members by Christmas.

Ahh Old Balls Cornes, you never cease to amuse me, you know that? By your logic results from this year matter little because we got more pet memberships than the Camries!!1!11!

But we'll blindside that barley 50% of those 'loyal fans' actually turn up to the games when they play shit and yet we still rack up 50k to a game outside the 8 (i.e vs Melbourne in 2014 - and you're telling me we are the 2nd best). But that doesn't matter does it? Hence why you had to use a picture of the 'loyal fans' from the 2014 Choke Final than this year because searching for an equivalent scenario from their shit 2015 season doesn't exist

As Archie said, it's just a major, pathetic, ego boosting, dick measuring contest. When in actuality, the nation laughs at Poorts' antics. And not to mention you too Old Balls, you can personally GAGF. Try not to swallow Kochs dick.
Barley is a tasty grain but not sure what it has to do with footy ;) The rest of your post is a bit immature especially the last sentence. Anyway Port's faithful hate Cornes' article as much as you do.

When they can get 44k to a game in a "dead" timelot against a minnow club we will know they have passed us in terms of real support.

Seriously, I can't fathom that any living, breathing, human being would not see this.

Worse is the flagellation over the scarf and song abomination.

Second worse is anyone not looking beyond the 'official' membership numbers, and getting all excited or agitated that Port's number is higher. Funny how with so many less members, the Crows get more people to the game.

Third worse is actually believing there is any real difference between the clubs game day experience. I've been to many Port games. It simply isn't any better nor worse than any Crows' game day experience...except for the embarrassing scarf dirge.

But we love our scarce dirge :(

I still beleive we should be trying to create 1 bit of excitement (positive publicity) per week for the entire off season.

We needed to make a BIG DEAL out of the women's side and signing Jane Woodlands-Thompson as the best women's coach in South Australia and the fact that Brad Crouch being fit.

Back in August, September - the club should have been forward planning. Getting 1 or 2 player contracts activated, major or even minor sponsorship (Titan protein bars should have been pumped up big time), any other good news stories could be released as well. They should do it, just to keep the club getting spoken about in the media. Have out club getting spoken about and then make them work bloody harder to create their own publicity - instead of getting a free ride with a 1 year extension to two players who were never leaving and 1 girl who will never even play a game.

We gave them a massive free kick.

And it's not to entice the current member, they have made their mind up already. It's to entice that person who wants to enjoy football but has never gone to a game before.

Over the past 10 years, we have gone from being a very dominate force to breaking even.

This person does not care about Footy in December. Any marketing any club does right now is only noticed by us "hardcore" supporters.

Sitting at work the other day a guy who has a casual interest in the game during the season mentioned to us why we were having one of our "debates" (Port v Crows) in December. I was having a bit of a laugh (stoking the fire) at my mate who was expecting Wingard to resign Wednesday, but all he got was Erin Phillips and he had a dummy spit about it lol. The causual supporter said it is cricket/Soccer/Basketball season and told us we take the game too seriously. He was right.

Casual supporters only get interested about the game when the preseason games start. Not now. The memberships bought now are generally just auto renewals or Christmas gifts.

Spot on. I've got a fair idea of their game day experience being married to a Port supporter (she's one of the good ones:p) so I attend some Port games with her to keep her company. I enjoy any footy game and don't have a hatred of Port (only a dislike of what some of their supporters say about us - most are fine though) so I'm happy to go.

Some don't even know the words to the NTUA song other than the chorus when it starts getting good. During the game they're not markedly louder than us at all either and they have supporters leaving early when they're losing just like us too. They were streaming out of the doors in the Tigers game last season! People who think they're louder/more passionate are being sucked in by their own confirmation bias, only looking for and remembering things according to their own preconceived ideas.

This is true of both sides. You (as in Crows' supporters) ridicule our NTUA, we ridicule your chanting practice. You ridicule our 4 gifts of Christmas, we ridicule your 12 days of Christmas (as do most of you). You ridicule Kochie, we ridicule Notso and on and on on. We are all biased to our own team , even if married to an oppo supporter and therefore perceiving ourselves as being more neutral. NTUA means a lot to Port supporters and the majority absolutely love it, but of course understand that those not involved or understanding why it means so much would not have the same experience. By the way, I also know some Crows supporters who are not too bad either. All good fun, except for a few posters who get really nasty. Merry Christmas.

Apart from the Don Pyke comment anyone that disagrees with Cornes has their head firmly entrenched in the sand. Port are killing us off the field.

Luckily though we have "chant school" and the "12 days of xmas" as our secret weapons.

Really? A couple of YouTube videos?

I'm more curious about corporate partnerships, investment in the football department, brand positioning here and interstate, strategy around younger supporters, and long term income growth.

I agree it means nothing but I would prefer if we were a little more polished when it comes to anything involved with the club.

Like the colours on our Guernsey being ****** by BLK. The chants, the Christmas video. Club logo. There's plenty to work on.

This pretty much sums up how I feel.

The Port supporters I know are all pretty much reasonable sorts and exactly the same as my Crows supporting friends - or any team, really.

You get some clowns in the Internet, but surely that's true for every club and pastime.

Please stop using common sense and intelligence.

Rooch wrote ages ago that Port had more members, that its game day experience was the best, that the Port crowd cheer louder, and therefore Port is the No.1 club in Adelaide. It must be so.

aaaand, I love it that the Crows have shunned the Ragvertiser.

Anything in particular you think? Or is it because of Rooch's general pumping up of Port's tyres and incessant ridicule of the Crows?
Oh man, he piles shit on Port too, especially in our poorer years, and last year. We all thought he had absolutely fallen in love with Walshy when he became your coach.

I was doing my Christmas shopping and as I was going up the escalator Johno Brown was going down, he was on his phone talking to someone and as he passed me the only part of his conversation that I heard was "I'll whack a few more into 'em"

I feel like it was the perfect thing to overhear Johnathon Brown say as it was totally on brand.

I hope you weren't running into the escalator with mates. The poor bloke would have had flashbacks.
