Salem as F4 wasn't a good pick. I thought he would be playing rebound but he seemed to be on lock down.
Fatty Hibberd as D2 is the one that really shits me. I'm going to be trading him this week to Smith because he's just to fat.
Cripps over NVB. I just don't think Cripps is up to the speed.
Newnes I suppose. I'll wait and see on him though.

Traded out Lewis and Anderson at the last minute to get Burgoyne and Cockatoo.

Not a total disaster but boy I regret letting Lewis go after he was my first pick pre-season.

Rest of the round went OK - I was away from a computer most of the weekend so couldn't do any last minute pre-match trades!

Hibberd over Gibson: probably still end up pretty close but considering I have the cash it's irritating I switched Gibson after Essendon got off
Newnes: Ugh
Mumford: Simply unable to score what he was previously capable with the awful score changes. Overpriced.

Wishing I had have backed my gut feel over summer and picked the players I felt were in for a good year instead of playing it safe and also following the pack with some selections. Players I had in but alas took out-Smith,Docherty,Gibson,Wines,Danger,Luey and Bonts. Between those blokes they scored 874 with an avg of 124.85. Doesn't mean they'll continue to score like that but from a small sample they look more likely than the 8 that took there place

No Gray. Thought I'd have a chance to get him in when he dropped a little but he was underpriced. I'll be chasing him for a chance to squeeze him in the forward line for ages now.

I made sure I didn't make the same mistake twice.

Gray was the first player picked in my team during pre season and he's been there since day one.

Dunno why anyone would have a team that doesn't have Wines in it. Kid is a machine, stands a chance of hitting super premo status by end of year.

Second correction trade I made was Griffen > Wines after I did Lamb > Bonts.

My only regrets so far are Newnes, Lumumba and Griffen (man he sucked!)

Griffen's already gone for wines and the other 2 will be traded out next week if they have another average performance.

Also didn't start with one of Bonts or Swan at F4 (had Salem there instead) but have fixed that up with a correctional trade by going Lamb > Bonts.

Am in a way better position than last year where my team had more holes in it than swiss cheese.

Butchered about 100 points in putting the wrong rookies on the field. Would have meant I'd have gotten a solid respectable score instead of a fairly poor one

Salem is certainly a regret for me. I had him last year at 129k and he was disappointing even at that price - it looks like more of the same this year unfortunately. I don't normally make trades at Round 1 but I would rather bring in McGrath and free up 60k. Hogan looks like a decent F6.

went too light in the mids, losing a trade to fix my structures
convinced myself Sutcliffe would play more hbf/mid/wing this year and not be stuck minding smalls, losing another trade upgrading him
