I only lost one game with Gray C choice also with mj -3 grrrrrrrrrrr.
In one of my games he traded OX to yeo.
I said at the time would be piss funny if Ox out scores him.

Literally all of my starting premo choices.

My starting midfield was ablett Rockliff, Watson and selwood, all been rubbish, Brodie Smith and hibberd been average as and deledio is just coming good now.

Year was over before it even began..

10 rounds in, here are my (almost) mid season major regrets that got me off to a shocker start

-starting with Hibberd (ASADA), Ablett (named in round 1, got sucked in), Minson (tried to be different, apparently over his back problem) and Bartel (old man)
-trading in Burboyne, Smith (at 500k+) and Rockliff
-not starting with Fyfe
-stuffing up my captain choices (5/10 have been <=101)
and the biggest one
-having a GF this season (SC is a lot easier being single, much respect to the husbands and dads on here )


thankfully the rest of my trading has been good and I'm back on track for a top 1k finish

The 10 round regrets:
* Newnes - Having him from the start and then trading him out the round before he hit form of 95, 92 & 117. Partnering him in a mid-price duo of Geary was also not very smart. 1 premo (had Houli in so many pre-season teams) and 1 rookie would have been a much better option. Must remember for next year.
* Ablett > Sloane - This one has just been unlucky. Yeah, probably shouldn't have started with Ablett but people have made worse decisions. Going to Sloane was a mistake though (albeit unforeseeable). Back my gut and go with Lachie Neale or David Mundy instead and I'm a lot richer, and a lot higher ranked. Instead went for reliable for $100k+ more, and backfire spectacularly.
* Buying B. Smith for top $. Unrucky.

Those are probably my only REAL regrets so far.

To a lesser extent:
* Starting with Geary. Speculative, didn't work out, trade wasted.
* Lin Jong. Started really well, thought I'd made a masterstroke. Fractured his hand v Sydney and hasn't looked the same player since. Still made $70k so not bad, but definitely lost that preseason coin flip between him and Wallis that I made.
* Trading in Van Berlo. Just wasn't worth it for $70k. Must set minimum price rise trade figure next year of $120k.
* Going early on Hogan and VDB. Not a massive one, but could've got an extra $100K from them and some nice scores. Meh.

I don't think I've ever seen a player rise 120k in one week. Not a terrible trade in at the time for those who thought his scoring would continue. Based on past history, though, that wasn't going to happen.

SC is a lot easier being married for 700 years than it is having a girlfriend (if I think back to those cassette days). So respect to you my friend.

gave some advice to trade in JPK to a friend last year. up until round 21, his lowest score was 72 and only had 2 scores under 100 all year.

so they traded him in. come round 21, gets injured and subbed off for only 30 or so points. lost his final by a small margin too.

it can always get worse guys. just you wait...

My starting mid structure, I picked the 4 most expensive players (GAJ, Rocky, Fyfe, Pendles) thinking they would all average ~125 or more points a game, Fyfe and Pendles have worked out alright but GAJ and Rocky didn't and have cost me trades. Not to mention I could of gotten Steven, Neale + One extra premo with the leftover cash.

I traded them both out before Rd3, but in no small part, those 2 spuds contributed to my poor start. Was ranked 30k after 3 Rds. Recovered fairly well to be ranked 2k now, but oh how I wish I still had those extra 2 trades up my sleeve.

If the lesson learnt is just to pick 2 premo rucks in your initial squad and throw away the key then those selections are a blessing for the future.

I learnt my lesson last year and went Goldy/Maric this year.
