Ah, with all due respect, the less help we are to clubs that share our window the better it is for us. I don't think it would be outlandish to say the 2010 collingwood team would have been a solitary point worse if they didn't have Luke Ball. But for the most part, it doesn't really matter.

So you'd be prepared to make us weaker to ensure another team who may or may not be challenging when we are, are weaker? That's just not how things work. You look after your own backyard.

I think GC are the team we need to trade with. They already have 3, 19, and 22, and will get first rounders from Port Adelaide for Dixon, 10, and from Freo for Bennell, 16 most likely, and a pick from Geelong for Smith, probably 30. Their 3rd rounder is 40.
I dont believe they will be using 7 picks in the draft. I would offer them 5 and a player, (probably Gilbert), for 10, 19, and 40, 30 as well if they are not going to use it.
Then 10 to the draft,
19 to Essendon
30 to the draft
40 to collingwood.
42 for Rice

This is our board, we can say what we want. Don't have to agree with us mate... Looking at the Essendon board do you guys honestly think Carlisle is worth a straight swap for pick 5? Because I sure do not and our list manager doesn't think either.

Agree. Chances of bagging Rhys are still very high with 8 (fall at 10), GWS would need the higher pick more (better for surpassing/cheating the points system) and 16 works better for Carlisle.

When I said I would be upset with Essendon getting 5, it's because I was of the belief that we would be able to get Carlisle without losing 5 as has been suggested in this thread hundreds of times. It's not about being so against giving Essendon pick 5 that we lose out on Carlisle, it's about getting him as cheaply as possible. The trade that Essendon fans have been suggesting of pick 5 for Carlisle and 23 makes me want to vomit.

I don't think it's that so much, it's just the potential feeling that we could've got him for much less, made worse if by some chance parish gets to 5, but I suppose it won't really matter if we're set on matho and can get him at 8 or 11 or whatever we end up having. I just would hate to give essendon more than 2015 2nd rounder and 2016 2nd rounder/Ross , I guess it's not up to me though!

I like this alot better than 19. I don't rate ross too much but I think he's had improvement over the years and there is no reason he can't continue it. With 16 I think it brings him closer to his actual value of a low-mid teens pick.

Screw that. It'd be 16 and 42 at best imo. Ross is easily worth around pick 25 (his draft pick) and there is no way Carlisle is worth 16 and 25.

IMO GWS has more reason to trade 8 and 16 to us than GCS has to trade 10 and 19.

Why do we care what another club ends up with? Luke Ball and Paddy Ryder have absolutely nothing to do with anything we are trying to achieve. If we trade 5 to Suns or Giants it will because it's the best thing for our club.
The only thing that matters is we are happy with our trade and draft period. People need to have more faith in Ameet.

Ameet is one of the Saints best ever recruitment stories! I have no doubt he will do well by the club - keep your cool Sainters!
