That's the bottom line really. He hasn't always been. He was pretty durable early, but over the last 2-3 years, he has become quite injury prone. To offer him a multi-year contract given where we're at, it's just not sensible, and if he's offered one by a Brisbane or the like, he's got to take it.

I like Silva, reckon he should be on our list. I think for the year coming up I'd want him, but it really has to be a year by year thing with him if we're going to be brutal about it.
 
If the stories on Joel Hamling are true that would make Silvagni a surplus player for us.
What sort of trade might we get from Brisbane ; it would need to be a draft pick.
Because Brisbane really need a Merrett replacement, would a second rounder be out of the question ?

Yes.
I doubt we'd get anything for him, regardless of his form of late. I'd prefer we kept him for the same reasons we have his entire career - as decent depth.

I've seen that now.
I think Alex is a better player and I hope we keep him, however if Brisbane offer him a long contract and their key backman role, I could understand him taking it.

Think he means Roberton. We tried to get them to trade but they just waited till we delisted him and they picked him up as a delisted free agent.

Roberton, from memory, also wanted to go as he and his pregnant girlfriend were from Victoria. Understandable, I suppose, from the point of view of family suppport and so on.

i think agree with this now. He had a horrible finals series for South Fremantle and he could have really put his name on recruiters midns if he had of performed. I am not keen on us taking him even in the rookie draft anymore, hopefully he gets his chance at another club though

I think there was a lot of misinformation surrounding the status of the gf's pregnancy. The kid was already a year old when they went back. But maybe that's splitting hairs.

Probably seeing if there's any interest from other clubs. Even late 3rd rnd picks this year will be helpful.if we delist players we get nothing.
 
I have a reliable source (the postman) that delivered some inside news today (in the mail). The 2017 members pack came today and guess who's on the card - Mr Fyfe himself!!! I take it he's not being traded this year ;)

Also spoiler alert - the pen is back!!! With purple ink none the less - think they finally listened to the members surveys :eek:
