Makes it sound like Allison has been playing up forward most of the game. Given his height, it'd been a good string to add to his bow.
Definitely. He reminds me a little bit of Elliot Yeo so I think it'll be handy for him to gain experience all over the ground as a bit of a utility type.

we need ball winners that can use the ball when under pressure form the opposition. Players with a bit of mongrel would be high on my list as well. Our whole team is soft bar a few but those few are limited footballers.
At least Rolls and Allison both seem to have good kicking skills. Neither are currently midfielders though. Rolls has reportedly looked good since moving into the middle, so hopefully that will continue.
From what I've seen of Allison his disposal seems a little erratic to me. Is prone to the odd shank or 2.

Would love Petrevski-Seton simply for his elite kicking skills on both his left and right foot. Am sick of Lions players inability to execute basic skills.

AFL need to do something extraordinary for Lions to realign and manage list. I propose a mini draft set up for 2 years where Lions have a proprity pick to auction off for 2 years. This would gain us immediate players to fill gaping holes.
Delusional to think that would ever happen.
FWIW, club said last year he'd be high on their radar. He's the best academy kid we'll have had come through at that age imo.

I get the feeling the AFL has suddenly realised they screwed Brisbane up - dropping the ball during the expansion years (namely introduction to Gold Coast), this year's draw and revoking a retention allowance.

PP will not happen. We'll literally have to receive 60 point floggings every week for the year to get one.
Talking about young Declan Watson. As you all know, I never rated Keays or Hipwood that highley(rated Keays top 20 but not Hipwood), but I've been super impressed by what I have seen of Watson.
Seems a real leader type too. Haven't spoken to him yet, but confident I will some stage throughout the year.
What we really need to do is add more top 10 draftees to our list. We only have 3: Rich, Mayes and Schache and Mayes could very well leave at the end of this season. It is looking likely that we'll have top 5 draft picks the next couple seasons. If we could somehow trade for another pick inside the top 10 this year and add 2 top 10 players, next season we could do the same getting say pick 4 and then Ballenden being bid on around pick 7/8. Adding 4 top 10 draft picks over the next 2 drafts could really assist our rebuild.
Over the next year or two depending on how we stockpile picks, we'll likely have a couple of hard decisions as to whether or not we match bids for our academy players. The club will be focusing on this as a major priority. It's no secret we want more homegrown players.

We pretty much need to land a player that is having the same impact Bont or Stringer are at the dogs. Otherwise we'll just keep treading water.
Yeah we need to strike gold on a player and find a Bont/Cameron/Cripps/Hogan/Stringer/Wingard/O'Meara type. A genuine young superstar. Having a young superstar in the team restores excitement, buzz and faith not only among the club but among the fans as well.
