[Quigley]

Quigley what do you think of Pat McKenna from the Giants? Has pace and quality disposal but appears to struggle to accumulate the football. He was plucked from country football and spent a lot of his junior career focusing on cricket so I'd say he has a fair bit of development left in him. He could be interested in a move in a bid for more senior opportunities.

I haven't have only seen a little bit of GWS ressies and did not notice McKenna. He looked okay last year I thought and deserved a chance to show what he could do. He did need to improve though and it will be interesting to see how he goes.

Himmelberg has been moved back and seems to be doing very well for GWS. He is one to keep an eye on going forward.

interesting, tomlinson listed as 193cm and 95kg. had a quick look at a couple of other mids, patrick cripps 193cm 90kg, david mundy 192cm 89kg.

left field thought- i wonder if it would be worth trying michael close in the midfield as a contested ball beast? 196cm and 94kg, he has always been renowned for his elite aerobic capacity so that shouldn't be an issue. think it would be worth a trial in the reserves for a month or so and see how it works out, the last few seasons have shown us we need more contested ball animals in there.

Still one of my favourite obscure memories of footy - Browny going into the middle and dominating straightaway.

Close has a turning circle of the titanic nor the desperation to play as an inside mid. IMO his future is as a CHB as I don't think he has the footy brain to play as a CHF.

It is estimated that at least six AFL clubs have made inquiries to Lions staff on a new draft prospect in the west.

The silky smooth 19-year-old has been likened to Hawthorn superstar Cyril Rioli, with exhilarating and explosive talents as well as uncanny goal-kicking sense.

Ryan was not listed by East Fremantle when he turned 19 and automatically became a "free agent" to join a WAFL club of his choice.

He somewhat surprisingly joined the champions of the past two years after discussions with West Coast alignment outfit East Perth just before Christmas, and then joined the Lions' summer training.

He has bagged six goals in his two senior outings, with a couple on debut in an 80-point thrashing from East Fremantle and then a classy four majors from nine disposals in a comfortable Lions 44-point win over Claremont last Saturday.

Ryan is now tipped to grow in appeal to AFL talent scouts who are scouring the nation for contenders for this year's national draft in November.

Looks exciting. I really hope he continues on the way he is going.i hope the lions think outside the square when it comes to recruiting. I would love them to take a risk. As i mentioned before k agius ,i would love to see on our rookie list.well done.

Sounds like next year will be the year we get our gun top 10 academy prospect like the Suns are this year with Bowes, the Swans the past couple of years with Heeney and Mills and the Giants last year with Hopper. They are all midfielders though so we are probably the luckiest of the lot getting a KPF. Ballenden sounds like a terrific prospect!
