As they're matching with a first-round pick, they don't get a pick back, but they instead retain the points balance. That'll count off any deficit at the end of the night, then carry forward to next year.

Wouldn't be a Brisbane draft thread witout a complete denial about retention still being an issue either.

We had to take McCluggage at Pick 3 - half the comp rated him as #1. We're very lucky. But let's not pretend we're exactly a destination club for most young players.
