I was thinking that throughout the video. Very short video, and gave no information of any kind. Looked giddy as a necrophiliac in a morgue though.

Interesting analogy.

Probably been clarified earlier but why were GWS and Gold Coast allowed to take more picks than available list spots into this draft and we weren't? Like GWS and GC we also traded for future picks last year...

I think they only gave the clubs picks up until they stopped being worth points pre-draft. So since our's were already zero, we didn't get any extra picks. GWS only got two extra, not three, and (IIRC) that third would've been worth zero.

McCluggage or Ainsworth? is there a chance if the bombers go with McCluggage that the giants still go with the much speculated Taranto?

Nah GWS really really want McGrath.

That's a very high standard if you'll only accept an A grade, brownlow medal winning midfielder.
...
again i agree cotchin is a solid player but... point is I just hope ( if we get H mcClug) ..he turns out better than Trent...more like scott pendlbury ( as he's been compared to him few times as well)

That last line is were I sit at with Hugh. Agree with everything you said here and I'm getting a bit of Aish vibes from him. Not the fact that he refuses to win the hard ball but the body compositions between the two. Someone mentioned Hugh plays like Cotchin and I agree. Cotchin is a gun but the game has changed since his great year of 2012 with bigger midfielders and more emphasis on clean contested possessions. He struggled a lot the past 2 years especially because he is simply too small.
Biggest problem with Cotchin's game is that, aside from one great season, he just isn't dangerous forward. That's unlikely to be an issue for McCluggage.

I also hope he's the next Judd or Voss but I'd be very happy for him to get to Cotchins level.

It's an old family favourite. Originally a Terry Pratchett one i believe.

The only foray I ever made into his stuff was the old Discworld DOS game which certainly had that devilish sense of humour for which he was famous. Should probably read some of his stuff, his fans are very passionate.

I dunno. He kicks a fair few goals for a midfielder and is pretty good in a one on one situation up forward. He does kick a lot more behinds than Tigers supporters would find ideal though.

Campbell just on AFL's pre-draft show and just from a casual comment on the Academy it seems like they're committed to to taking Cumming even if he's bid on in the first round.

I was a bit off there- through the last few years he's had 3 seasons at close to a goal a game and 3 where he's gone at about half that.

Good call whoever came up with the Cotchin comparison, probably a few clicks quicker too. Hopefully Hugh can become a Brownlow medallist too... ;)
Yeah, but after McGrath wins it,then loses it for using performance enhancing substances:D

I've read a couple of his, but didn't find them revolutionary. They're good as a follow up from a long, arduous read like Crime and Punishment. They're funny but I prefer a little more investment in the storyline generally...

That's interesting. Might open the door to us bidding on Mutch in the second round and them not matching.

Just watched the video with Conole, I couldn't see this mysterious grin you speak of Brown Dog. The guy was smiling like Cheshire Cat the whole video.

Schwabby just on Draft Countdown, nothing particularly groundbreaking.

We'd like to know what Essendon are going to do
Not very subtle on McCluggage being our primary target although Ainsworth "would be a good option for us for sure
On Schache re-signing "We think in the new year we can make some real progress."
Fagan giving a few players a chance to stake a claim for captain over the pre-season but there's a "process" to go through
Evasive on Rocky and how he feels about the process
Beams going well pre-season

Matt Rendell- great to hear from a team with no selection in the top 20. lets hope it is the best top 22 ever.

THE BEST 20 players of this year's NAB AFL Draft shape as the strongest top group ever, Collingwood recruiter Matt Rendell says.

"It is a deep draft. I've thought so from day one," Rendell said on AFL.com.au's NAB AFL Draft Countdown show.

"The best 20 is probably best 20 I've ever seen. I think they'll all play a lot of footy, the top 20.

From what I can tell, McCluggage has unequivocally been seen as a better talent than Ainsworth.

I would say that if McC is still available at 3 and we don't take him, it will be seen as the WTF moment of the draft, league-wide.

That may be true but I've seen so many players dubbed the undisputed #1 pick and as it often turns out they are far from it. I'm sure not many would have picked Dangerfield over Kreuzer.
