But they are generally great decision makers. The ones who can't kick and are poor decision makers struggle (and I'd put a kid Sam Powell-Pepper) in that category.

Was responding to the poster who said Cripps can never be considered a star, because he's not a good kick.
Absolute rubbish. Cripps may not be an elite kick, but he is an elite clearance and stoppage player.

naaa man. Sam Mitchell is an elite clearance and stoppage player because he can clear it anyway he likes with any hand or foot because he is an elite kick...thats where you miss the point and will meander in mediocrity handing out elite tags to solid foot soldiers who will carve out a solid career, hoping there is some talent around them to make them look good.

Cripps is a gun, but i think his ceiling is limited by the players around him.

If he was in our midfield for instance with Cotch, Dusty, Caddy, Prestia, etc, he would absolutely dominate as he could just be an extractor and inside beast where his kicking wouldnt matter at all

For you guys he needs to do more by foot which is something that doesnt suit him as much

Still a gun though

I offer you exhibit A as an example of how this is so wrong:

lol how can you compare Matt Thomas to Cripps?

Watch some footy mate.

Cripps is a far superior extractor and his kicking is ALOT better than Thomas'

Cripps is a star. Not all tigs supporters wear yellow and black tinted glasses. Any Richmond supporter would love to have him in our team.

dont worry, Cripps will eventually evolve and reach the dizzy heights Thomas did...if you cant kick you are eventually toast...lock that one in. ;)

if you think cripps wont amount to anything, you need to start following another sport

Cripps is the 1 clearance player in the AFL.
Averaged 8.8per game
That's more then Fyfe averaged in his Brownlow year.
Also 4th for contested possession
This is a kid in he's 3rd year of AFL footy.
Kid is a beast

Some draft profiles from Inside Football draft edition of potential pick ups for both our first pick and maybe later picks. Kirby and Begley could each give 10kg to C.Ellis and Menadue and not even notice

Does it say somewhere who Anderson thinks is in the frame for pick 27?

Also does he mention a range for Begley?

Farrkkk I want them all

We better not miss out on Kirby

I was just listening to Anderson on SEN 20 min ago and a Tiger caller asked him about Powell Pepper and the possibility of him being picked by us and he said that we are in the frame. He also went onto say that his kicking and decision making has improved as the year has gone on and as a result could go earlier than our pick.

If you look at his profile, when he went up to WAFL Reserves his kicking efficiency improved up to an acceptable 74% but then plunged down to 44% in the seniors, I wonder if it has to do with the role he is asked to play that has that big an impact. Seems he played more outside in the reserves given the lower CP% and higher average disposals, then at senior level he won more contested possessions but averaged fewer disposals.

WITHOUT having to read all those, which one is the skinny half back flanker? Lock it in and send the info to Casino Jackson and the bloke who replaced him.

I like Cripps and would love him at Tigerland but when we talk 'Elite' it has to be in all area's and Cripps isnt that yet and may never be that but he is tracking well for a 22 yo.

Just for argument sake even though there is 3 years difference to the 2 players i am about to compare, They are tracking very similar and yet the Richmond player Anthony Miles is considered by Richmond supporters as being 'B grade and trade material and Cripps is already considered 'A grade by Carlton supporters
