OK, just tell me have you ever been in the vicinity of Josh Begley?
I've stood near him at the 3/4 time huddle as I have Brodie, they are chalk and cheese regards physical development, weight and height has FA to do with it.... grundog49
Brodie, Graham and Begley look nothing a like when you see them on field. Begley is like Stringer physically. Graham is like Thompson atm. Brodie is like Mundy. Hey may be similar height but they have very different distributions of weight.

Sadly there is talk of him going to North Melbourne before we even get a sniff of taking him.
Surprised they wouldn't want Florent, honestly.

The four I'd want are Venables, Berry, Florent and SPP, in that order. Anyone else and I'd be surprised (but not disappointed), those guys seem like the real good list fits for us at this stage.

It's between Florent and Him. Florent for us would be the dream. Balanced midfielder who uses it well

Always rated this kid, electric pace, run and carry and hits the scoreboard.

You heard how that other Templeton kid you really rate has been going, Bicks? Tom, was it?

Reckon Eli would be a very good rookie pickup, has some serious midfield potential

If I've got a choice between Venables and Florent, who would you want me to choose? I'm leaning to Florent.

Reckon we'd be pretty happy with either.

grundog49 just curious, what made you pick English ahead of Berry in the Draft Central phantom? Thought Berry would be a better prospect, and would also be more suited to our needs?

Love Morrish at 64, though

Tom had a good year in the VFL for the Roosters but if I was him I'd get a gig with one of the SA teams, the Roosters being based in Ballarat don't get a lot of VFL coverage compared with the Melbourne based teams. The guy from the Roosters I'd be looking to rookie would be big youngster Rowan Marshall 200+cm Ruck/KPP, still only 20 years old, mobile and a beautiful kick. Invited to the State Combine so there is interest from AFL clubs.

Best available. Ruckman like Jacobs are becoming relics and JJ isn't getting any younger. English and ROB ruck combo is the best young ruck combo imo.

Really rate Marshall. One of the stiffest players to miss out in 2014.

You need to have another look at Rowan Marshall, he's progressed really well since his Rebels days.

Edit : You beat me to it..

Bicks - any similarities between Berry and Dyson Heppell? I remember clubs being concerned that Heppell might not make it as a midfielder because he mostly played as a junior off half-back.

Richmond were worrried by that (and an apparent injury issue) so they drafted Conca instead.

None whatsoever, Berry will play midfield and can capably play running defender or up forward as required, so many strings to his bow. My worry is a club like GC Suns may pounce early for his strong character and leadership which is no doubt the best in this draft on top of his outstanding football talent.....they certainly need that!

I'm not huge on the Barlow idea but does make a lot more sense than keeping Grigg around again.
How? Picking up an older, slow mid who can't kick for nuts? Grigg is a good player who has looked at home on the rare time's he's been given a chance. Kid's only young too. His lack of pace has meant it's hard for him to play when we've got a couple of slow guys in the midfield already. He does however have a weapon of a foot, one of the best kicks in the squad. I'd love to see him get another chance this year.

Yep, no argument here, but with 4 picks inside 10 will they take all midfielders? they will surely go big/KPP with one pick?

Just my thoughts....

I explained this somewhere else already, basically he's clearly well on the outer (even if he never deserved to be) and it'd probably be best for him to be able to move on.

for what its worth neither Grigg or Barlow would be anywhere near my best 22 barring injuries.

Maybe you should look at the way you frame things. Saying getting Barlow makes a lot more sense than keeping Grigg didn't sound like you were too concerned about what was best for Grigg.
