What are peoples opinions on Jack Martin?

I kept a close eye on him last year and the kid is freaky good. Picks great options and executes most of the time, which translates into high SC points for his possie counts. Last season he played as a small fwd getting the ball outside or around the 50 most of the time.
Harley Bennel's departure may mean he gets more of a run through the middle in an attempt to replace the drive bennel provided. If this happens it would be fair to expect his supercoach average to increase 10-15 ppg. He should also have better midfield support this year after 2015's injury dramas which should also contribute to pushing his average along. Also he should see more of the ball in the fwd line with the suns hoping to improve after 2015.
Then you have the mysterious third year breakout phenomenon, and(injury gm del) thirty point jump between his first and second season 55 to 85 scppg.

I think he is priced around the $350K mark, but his average of 71 last year contains three injury games which combined for 73sc points. Get rid of those games and his average jumps up to 85 ppg. Put 10-15 pts on that and he is a keeper F5-F6. Put 30 pts on it and he will be the pick of the year.

The only question mark and it is a big question mark is his durability. He has played 24 matches in 2 seasons. Thats not the kind of continuity that you want from a player. His injuries have everywhere too(shoulder/ankle/hammy) which suggest's his body just isn't built for the smashing that is an afl match.
That said, he is only 20 and inspite of his numerous injuries none have been tendon related or re-occurring. He has put on muscle again and may finally have a chassis that can handle it this year.

As I still haven't started on my team this year i'm doing research and trying to find some diamonds the rough.

I don't really care what his stats are in the preseason, I want to see him get smashed a few times. If he bounces straight up he is a decent chance to come into the Rustyjunkers. If he hobbles to the bench I put a line through him and consign him to the tragic "talented but made of glass brigade"

Locked for me last year, locked for me this year. Guy is a freak but can he stay on the park?

Usually when a guy gives you this much grief in a season he ends up on a never again list doesn't he Jiska?

One day he might be SC Gold but he could give you years of hell in between innings!! :-)

Would rather have a rookie in his place, and play JOM instead.

I can forgive one year. If he does it again he joins that illustrious list.

I'm high on JMartin this year too. He's in most of my mock teams.

Lock for me.
I'm tempted. Tom Lynch at the same price is tempting too. I went for Toby Greene as a POD at F3.

Lynch getting better service next year and Greene getting Treloars midfield minutes a much better option.

Buddy has only played 16 to 19 games in each of the last six years and I doubt that will improve. Think I will pass on him.

On Buddy, or any other once proven player who is relatively cheap but risky.. I ask myself will this player score big enough, consistently, to hurt me if I don't have him. I have to answer no to the consistent bit.
At 470K you're really committing to him for the duration, it won't be enough profit to cash in when he's at a higher price, unless he goes gangbusters at the start, and in the meantime you're stuck riding the up and down scores with him.

Buddy's last 3 years have seen him average 90, 99 and 87 with 19, 19 and 17 games respectively. 3 years prior to that 115, 110 and 107 in 17, 19 and 16 games. I just don't see him recapturing that. Sydney will be rotating Sinclair and Tippet through the rucks and Reid will be that CHF role. Buddy just doesn't get the exposure up the ground like he used to.

What's Toby Greene priced at?
