Wow that's expensive - I understand you get a guaranteed ticket but it's not as though you are getting it for nothing.

Exactly. Given this past year I only got the one game in Adelaide. But hey, it could be worse, I could be one of the Gold interstate members in Queensland who have only gotten the one game in the past 3 years!

So have the club released a photo of the new member cap they're offering? All I've seen is the illustration ... and wasn't overly impressed I have to say.

I'll still get the scarf but if the cap looks good I might drop the extra $20.

I wouldn't mind seeing a photo of the cap myself, not that it really matters as I have gotten both anyway.

I was force upgraded to KC last year (forced from the point of view that I had to upgrade if I wanted to keep the gold member seat I'd had for quite a few years). Will keep KC next year, and plan to be a life-long member (15 years at the moment, would have been longer, but thats the number of years I've been in the full time work force, and been able to afford membership. I forget the exact switch dates, but the first 2-3 years were silver, and then gold up until the forced KC upgrade). However, I'll reconsider the level of membership if we look to be well out of contention for finals. Two KC memberships is a big expense, and while I'm very happy to support the club with ongoing memberships in years when we are not making finals, financially I'd find it hard to justify the value of a KC membership if we are not contending for flags. This might sound fickle, but this is partly derived from a feeling that the club was very happy to leverage our success into a forced membership upgrade in order for me to keep something I'd been happily paying for during years when we were not GF contenders.

I'd probably have been more inclined to continue gold membership over a period of non-finals appearances, as it was a level of financial commitment I felt more comfortable with, and while KC is not a massive jump, it was large enough , especially when the Gold membership commitment was already pushing the edge of what I could afford to pay in order to support the club. Given how I feel about last years forced upgrade, I'd be more inclined to drop down to silver than I would have otherwise been. I'm sure some posters will see this as disloyal, but loyalty cuts both ways, and I feel the club abused the trust of its members in this matter.
