NM with 1 player and no midfielders make a prelim. The only others so badly off are Carlton and Melbourne. Scott's probably just fine with that too. He's always had a greater-than-the-sum-of-their-parts approach to the team and gameplan. Deliberately avoids relying on stars (no go-to distributor out of the backline, 3 tall forwards equally important, etc) which means few NM players leap out as good SC bets.

Any North supporters want to comment on Dummont (247k)?
He was the sub in 5 of his 8 games so his is quite underpriced on what he can score. In his three full games he got an 84, 74, 73 or an average of 77pts which would price him around 415k.

You would think another preseason in if he could maintain around the 80pts mark you would be laughing.

Is he likely to be best 22 though?
Would expect him to get his chances to play but looks to be behind a few, especially with Wells hopefully fit again. Has proved he can be useful resting forward in the VFL so is probably competing with Jed Anderson for that role. Relative to Anderson probably has a better inside game but less toe. I'd wait until he's on the bubble at that starting price.

And with interchange cap Steele will play close to 90% on ground all year.

Rusty is one of my favorite players, but with all the talk of playing up forward more, I don't know if I can squeeze him in this year.
Will probably just stick with Pendles or Treloar as Collingwood's top 2 SC mids.

I don't buy the Fyfe forward talk. He'll be in his usual on ball dominating role with short rest stints up forward. Period.
Same. I mean, why would you? What he's able to do around stoppages is just gold. If he's fit, he should play where he is best utilised and thats what we saw him do last year. Surely he only rests forward.

I would've been all over him if he was priced at his average (39, $208k iirc), not sure at $249k though. He's easily best 22, should average 85-90, maybe 95 at a stretch (doubt we'll see him around HB much anymore) and is an absolute bull, even if his scores don't back that up yet.
$249k for a player averaging 85-90 is a steal.

You can get JOM and Crouch for the same price as Steele and Libba for an extra 50k - pass.

But is he worth 670k?

Sure, I was being pretty optimistic in my original post though. I do think he'll reach 85, but he's only done it once before (partly due to spending time back), and his games played from last year backwards read 2-17-20-9-13-8-6-8. He's tempting, but will need to look tip-top in pre-season to be considered I reckon.

Melbourne supporters how is Trengrove travailing? is he over his foot injure yet and training. Is he still in your best 22 or has he been overtaken.

There will be a few track watchers who'll know more than me. But last I heard he's running but in rehab group. Looks pretty fit in the photos I've seen. If fit he's he'd likely be in our best 22 after a fair chunk in VFL.
If he does play he's at a good price. But at this stage probably a downgrade target as couldn't see him starting the year.

Looking at Ablett, Hannerbery, Sidebottom, Wines, Rockliff, Libertore, Hopper, Fiorini, Mathiersen and Keys. So many midfield options this year. Will be the first year I don't start with Pendlebury if I do go that way. Tough to not pick Nat Fyfe but I just want to monitor his preseason first before spending that money, especially because I think he will spend 60/40 midfield/forward time next season. I know that means more goals but I will just monitor it. I hope that I'm starting with 6 premiums that I won't need to touch till the end of the year. I can see each of those guys going 110+ could be a massive scoring year with the rotations going down, best players on the field the most. Could be another 5 to 10 guys over 110 as well. I love Hopper but at 190k+ he could make way at some point to strengthen other areas.

Any love for Ollie Wines, priced @ 525k?

I'm also liking Boak & Parker in that price range.

Also Treloar? I think he'll thrive in his new environment.
I'm keen to start with Wines. Kid is a beast and due to injuries last year is effectively playing his 3rd year next year after his 4th preseason.

Had Parker most of last year. See him the same as Sloane. Some big scores and some effected by injury. Both guns.

Boak has reached his ceiling. A decent POD M6-8 IMO.

Don't worry about the "playing more forward time" for Fyfe, he'll score big anywhere.

I have no doubt he will score well. I just don't think he's fully fit yet and am concerned about him playing 22 games.

He played over 22 games last year, the last half with corks and the last 2 with a broken leg.

Anyone Dees supporters know how Trengove is tracking? Jiska?

Wanted the Tiges to get him the other year but then failed the medical, priced at 156k has averaged over 70 every year with a high of 87.
Hasn't played since rnd2 2014, hope the poor bloke can get his body right.
