Are you actually suggesting that the death of a family member is treated more gravely from one culture to the next?Depends on your connection and spirituality. It was horrendous on you. It is horrendous on all of us. But death is treated quite differently in various cultures. Just because you don't understand it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
EDIT:
Well, since you failed to respond after being active in this thread up to a minute ago, I will make an addendum.
If you ever wonder why your persistent attempts at becoming a mod get knocked back, this is a prime example. Take note and listen.
We can all understand having a bleeding heart. Unless you are a complete arseh*le, you can find some empathy for another person at some point.
In saying that, trying to suggest that someone of a different background to me feels the death of a family member more keenly because of "reasons" is the biggest crock of insulting shit I have ever heard.
You are taking your "sit on the fence", "see the positives in everything" well publicised opinion too far in this case and imo.
I cannot emphasize how offended I am by your comments further without resorting to expletives.
I would love to discuss it with you further or through PM if you so wish.

That is just ridiculous. You are saying I'm not a mod because I sit on the fence and see the positives in everything? Jesus H Christ.
