Our state government wont say what it is costing to get Cathay Pacific to land here. The Sceptic in me is suggest that some of this cost may be directed to PAP in the form of a Cathay Pacific sponsorship. Jay and his mates are known to have made the odd dodgey contribution to the Power.

Its just a matter of simple probabilities, crows supporters are huge in number, we have eyes and ears everywhere, one of us is bound to come across something, often quicker than port, who simply dont have as many of those eyes and ears......

I thought about going there and then I was like nah, just keep it sensible, but suspected someone would pick it up and run with it. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be a port supporter that doesn't mind a bit of self depreciating humor.

It's interesting isn't it, Swanny comes across as a good bloke, funny, bit rough around the edges with some dodgy mates.

SOUTH Australian football legend Mark Naley is recovering in hospital after surgery to remove a growth on his brain.

The 1991 SANFL Magarey Medallist and 1987 Carlton premiership midfields “has recovered well’’ after surgery on Thursday, his wife, Cassie, told The Advertiser, on Friday.

“He’s in good spirits, the operation went well and he woke up well,’’ Cassie said. “He’s up and about and talking so we’re seeing all the right things.

“They (doctors) removed the tumour and it’s gone off for pathology (testing), which will probably take two or three days (before getting results).’’

Naley, 55, was diagnosed with the tumour after having medical tests when he collapsed unconscious on a footpath in late November.

The silky-skilled and lightning-fast, left-footer, played 236 games with South Adelaide FC (1980-86; 1991-93) and 65 with Carlton (1987-90).

Naley, an inaugural SA Football Hall of Fame inductee in 2002, was South’s club champion in 1984 and represented SA in 16 State of Origin games (1981-89), winning All-Australian honours in 1986 and 1987, when he was also the Tassie Medallist as the best player in the now-defunct Interstate Carnival.

After football, Naley carved a successful media career, writing a weekly column for the Sunday Mail and calling games with the ABC.

I can see the humour, but 15 year old kids who are still at school and have enough initiative to join the workforce on a casual job that takes away from their social time, which is pretty important in the teenage years, is a bit of an easy target!
Especially when you consider the majority of privileged kids who don't lift a finger and stay at home until their mid 20's.
Good on the rascals, they can buy as many xbox's as they want if they're earning it! Also, their base wage is shithouse anyway, so double time is still $20 or less for them.

A 15 year old kid who gets an opportunity to earn even $10 an hour let alone double time $20 should definitely be down on their knees and forever grateful to those who make it possible. That there are 15 year old kids who need to be doubly compensated for working because otherwise they could be free on the weekend, - sheesh, I hope their future jobs don't interrupt their social life.
