Part of the problem with issuing the number 35 to our first round draft pick is simply they do not play enough games in the jumper for the AFL team so we don't get to a) associate them in that number and b) we don't get to see the #35 as often as we would like.

Fasolo played 13 games in 2011, Elliott 15 games in 2012 Grundy only 7 games in 2013 and of course Sharenberg played none in 2014.

I would love to see De Goey stay in 35. I feel like he is going to be star for years to come and he can make the 35 as popular as Daicos did. My son would wear 35 if De Goey wore it as he loves him just like I did when I was a kid. I had the number 35 on the old duffle coat LOL.

If you want to honour Daics and Presti, have them select the player that gets the number when it's made vacant.

Wouldn't it be prudent to announce new numbers today, so people can plan to buy jumpers with numbers for all players?
