2016 trade hypotheticals

There is absolute ZERO chance of McStay, the same McStay that struggles to get a game, getting a top 10 pick.

McStay struggles to get a game? That's news to me. He's missed 3 games from being dropped. With his form in the last couple of weeks before injury, it's not a stretch to he would have played out the year in the seniors and finished with 20 games to his name. That's hardly what you'd call struggling to get a game.

So just to be clear...a bloke who averaged 5 kicks and 0.3 goals a game this year, and has been dropped 3 times in 29 games is a top 10 pick?

Swallow + Pick 46 to Gold Coast for Pick 24

Gibson + pick 100 to Brisbane for pick 38

Hansen + Pick 82 to Sydney for pick 36

Black + pick 64 to Freo for pick 39

i could of cried today someone called up 1116 sen radio in Melbourne and said his heard a lot of talk about a possible mega trade... stay with me

Tom Mitchell goes to hawks
Bradley Hill goes to Freo
Nat fyfe goes to swans

with a mixture of draft picks thrown around each way, i nearly crashed my car i was laughing so hard

The Swans would have to get a first round pick in this scenario.
Maybe even a future first rounder.

0.3 goals in a year where he has spent barely any time up forward. Talk about using pointless stats to make a bloke playing in defence look bad!

If your judging a contracted, young talented KPP's worth at the trade table on current output alone, you've got no idea.

We can talk about defence but by seasons end we will just about be in the top 10 worst defences in the history of the game

Delidio's is Pick 12, this has been said alot already but i'll say it again what team is crazy enough to part ways with even a late first rounder for him when he is 29 has chronic calf injurys. his realistic trade value is a second rounder

The reason why West Coast supporters are putting EMac up is because he plays in a position where we have depth and would have the most currency of our players outside the 22. If it wasn't for Gov who is in AA form or Barrass who dominated WAFL and is now doing great in the first team, he would be playing in the seniors. None of us mind if he stays as he will be back to being a quality defender.

They're putting him up because he's a spud mate. Let's be honest. He had one good year, but was spudding it up before his good year and this year? I mean those dropped marks against Collingwood and his kicks out of defense were beyond horrible. He missed targets by more then 25metres.

I dare say you wouldn't mind him at your club. If he does go it'll be for a 3rd rounder maybe 2nd to a bulldogs or Sydney. Sound lockdown player IMO but at WCE they're trying to use all defenders to create and that's not one of his perks.

We're in rebuild mode, not give a spud a game mode.
Yes he'd get a game, but at 28 is what we're driving out and trying to get value for. We're not getting rid of blokes like Barlow and Ballantyne to bring in guys like him.

Where do value him at? Just out of interest. Don't reply if you think higher then a low second rounder.
I'm in the camp that I firmly believe he'll get back to a high level...In saying that, I'd have him a touch higher (around 20-29) due to his age.
I still think that he would be very good value to a side that needs an experience back. (I'd gladly see Schofield traded before him)

Well he made the AA squad twice which puts the 1 good year theory to bed. He had been taking the best defender for around 5 years before his injury. I know members on here can't remember back longer than a year though.

Our defence is a bunch of kids and a cooked Daniel Merrett.

If only our players up the ground could win the ball and stop turning it over so much. Because that is what kills us.

Not to mention that our game plan forces our defenders up the field to lock the ball in our half of the ground. One single mistake and a quick kick over the zone and it falls to pieces. We play far too tall a backline to expect the defenders to get back quick enough and stop it.

Our biggest problem is by far our coaches imo. I don't think the list is all that bad. Most of our players have arguably gone backwards/stagnated this year.

not the way WCE play schofield is very underrated and McGovern and barrass are ahead of eMac

Swap Dawson for him throw in your 3rd round lol

Ok good for him. He's a spud now and that's ultimately what values a player.
You'd be lucky to find a 2nd rounder for him.
I'd have Barlow as miles above him and at the same age of 28 I'd be content if we manage a late 2nd for him.

Can't argue with that, it's spot on.

I know the way we play mate, I never miss a game.

Schofield is very prone to letting the ball go over the back and not having the required agility to recover.
This cost us a LOT of goals.
Yes he plays more of an attacking role and is usually the utility defender (talls or smalls)however I believe we'd be far better served playing someone like Yeo in his position.
We were far better last year with a shorter back line, it was easier for the medium height players who have agility to run and re-zone when the ball was moved quickly by the opposition.

Talls who read the play well can make up for this but Schoey doesn't always have the best football brain.

For mine E-Mac is way above Shoey.
I do agree that Barrass and McGovern are ahead by a long way.
