“There’s a girl called Lauren Tesoriero from the Eastern Devils who’s got a bit of character about her – she likes knocking girls down and there’s usually a bit of carnage in her vicinity,” says Burgen. “All the defenders are looking over their shoulder when she’s coming.”

118. Melissa Kuys (Knox)

http://www.afl.com.au/womens/player-profiles/melbourne
Melissa KUYS 12-Sept-87 165cm Victoria / Knox

Kuys, an experienced running player, uses her body well and is known for leading by example. An inside / outside player who can play through the midfield or as a small forward. Kuys has led Knox superbly playing off in the 2015 Division 1 Grand Final and now into the State league. With a neat left foot, Melissa rarely turns the ball over and has been a durable, determined and classy player for many years.

Plays like: Mitch Wallis

Steph Chiocci captained the Bulldogs against Melbourne in the womens game back in August. Absolute gun. Couldn't be happier.

From Richmond FC too, no wonder TD got excited.

Interesting that we managed to get three WA girls to nominate for the Victorian draft (rather than their own WA draft) so we could pick them up.

I wonder if they were motivated by the adventure of playing on the other side of the country?

It is the way Collingwood do things - recruit multiple people from the one place in a draft year.

We've got 4 WA girls in total, but none from SA, NSW or Qld
