potentially better than, worse than, same, why is this idiot asking all these pointless questions, all of the above?
Disposal is beyond shithouse, especially by foot. Makes Levi look like McKenna. Pity because no one in this draft pool runs harder for longer to link up in chains of play and nor does anyone cover as much ground. Even though he snaffles the ball 30+ times each outing that disposal will see him go very late/rookie at best.

So basically to summarise this thread we all picked our preferred options a month ago and have all switched up many times . There is one choice we will make and we will all rejoice that we got the best player and then the AFL website will redo the 2017 draft in 2014 and go shit we could have done better, but we will be happy as we will argue that he is a worthy top 10 as he’s now played 142 games, is a leader and a premiership player and we picked him on character and aggression. So we trade him for 2 first round picks due to our surplus requirements to a languishing st Kilda and start the process again.

So I ask who is he ?

No I've been big on Dow and still am though think top three are very similarly rated

cheers, gunner, preciate it.........

I think the Dusty and Rayner comparisons are way off the mark.
Dusty in his draft year was a full time midfielder who had no issues running out games. You still had some pundits saying that he would struggle at the next level as a mid at that size.
How will Rayner fair if he can't do it at TAC level? I love his talent but he needs to be more than a half forward to hold more value than Cerra, LDU, Dow or even Brayshaw for mine.

I'm talking about style and build not so much position and tank

Call me mad but I'd take both Rayner and Fogarty if available.

There are many ways to get MID's - trade (Kennedy), draft (Cripps), FREE Agent (Rockliffe) once we are seen as contenders.

"Point of Difference" players (like Charlie C) are much harder to come by and I reckon grab them while you can - worry about the "meat and potatoes" later.
Dow is the only one I would rate in the range of 3 & 10 as 'meat and potatoes', and that's only because I don't think he can dispose well by foot.

When I say "meat and potatoes" - I mean Scotch Fillet with all the trimmings (not gravy beef).

But if I can get some lobster (Rayner/Fogarty) that doesn't rock up every year??

Count me in!!!!

I spoke with the Vic Metro coach tonight who gave me a little insight into the draft. He clearly has Rayner as the best player in this draft pool, then daylight. He does have Cerra at number 2 (may be a little biased) but rates Dow very highly. He has no doubts that Cerra is a 250 game player and is adamant that whoever selects him will have a very, very good player. He doesn't know too much about LDU.

Another source close to Vic Metro (definitely not the coach) also suggested that Rayner missing the combine was no accident. He would very much like to stay in Melbourne.

If he wanted to stay in Melb (which incidentally I think he does) he should of just gone to the combine considering how poor his endurance is

He's an impact player and he has the rare ability to turn games. It doesn't make sense to compare him with midfield accumulators and argue that because he's not that sort of player he's somehow less valuable.
Sure but is that always a good thing?
Chris Johnson had the ability to turn games. I believe he did it three times right in front of thylacine60

Something up there in Brissy may have spooked Rayner ...

Maybe it's the constant 800% humidity or the need to permanently wear SPF 50,000,000 sunscreen (even at night), who knows... (shit......I can hear The Old Dark Navy's footsteps) ....
