Guessing 4 in the draft and 3 rookies

We have a minimum of 8 spots available now, though.

There's clearly a DFA or two incoming. Smedts? Wonder what happened here? Interesting.

Maybe we re-rookie White for the character. Sumner now has a shot also as we may be heading towards a 38/6 split.

Have to hand it to Soapy V he was right on the number of delistings...

we have been ruthless

:thumbsu: Thank you. I said 20 over the next 2 years and got criticised everywhere. I believe Lord Lucifer and Arrow were similar in their views.

Bottom line is I am just happy with what's happening and see a real future. Go Blues

That's surprising.

Why the urge to move on contracted players?
I haven't seen us do that before and 2 of them: Smedts & Palmer.

Reckon we'll see some senior rookies coming through or are we going to rookie some that we've taken off the main list? Interesting.

Likely getting ready for a play next season.
Putting those delisted players wages into this year's balance sheet, freeing up cap space for 11 months time.

God DAMN! Was not expecting another 3 guys being cut. 13 more, lets hope this is our last big cull - seems almost all the deadwood is now gone.

BB deserved another year based on his late season form, I thought. Graham lucky and on his last chance.

Definitely a big FU to Rogers in this years' changes.

Props to Whitey - a good clubman who got the most out of himself despite injuries and form slumps a plenty.

Club definitely loading up for 2 x DFAs and using Pick 73. Can't wait to see what SOS does this next month.

Can absolutely see an ex-Hawk making their way here, and really hope we don't pickup Wellingham. Sniper. Who names their kid Sharrod anyway?!
Penrith and hickmott might be getting a run

We've moved on Gibbs' big contract and we've lost the contracts of 12 others, all of which will be replaced by draftee contracts or players traded in who are not on a hell of a lot of coin. We've also heavily reduced the contracts of both Jones & Thomas.... Smedts was moved was moved on as a tactical way of reaching minimum TPP. Its a risk considering lack of midfield depth, but he was always viewed as a 'short-term' solution.

A big name will be joining us at the end of next season, i have no doubt! We have the cash....

I'm hoping SOS has "hidden" a few players that he will pick up late

The salary would still sit in this years TPP. I don't think it's the salary, so then what is it?

Character? Personal issues? Something he/they did/didn't do?

Or do we simply know we'll bring in superior players to those ousted. I'm intrigued.

No disrepect but why would we pick up more defenders when we have a plethora of them?

Would not be surprised if Alex Silvagni upgraded to primary list to make more space on rookie list for the rookie draft.
Surprised Glass-McCasker looked like he was retained on rookie list even though we well off for young talls in defence. Maybe he still on some rookie contract that has year to run?

It's fascinating though, isn't it?

So what's the break-up now? We've cleared another three off the main list meaning we'll have to dip deeper into the ND.

OK. Done the numbers: We're going to take 5 at the ND now and 3 in the RD. 1, leaving us with a 38/6 split. Cat B rookie?

Yep and maybe more than one.

Was watching our game against the Giants and Sumner was influential with his pressure. Needs to get more of it and I'm not sure he can but in a better side ...? Maybe.

Apparently mum wanted a girl called Sharon and Dad wanted a boy called Jarrod.

Makes sense...

Sort of.

It's awesome isn't it. The club has stuck to it's word of a 66 game rebuild. No more carrying just average players that may do some good things. SOS has this draft and next years draft/trade period to finalisehis major list turnover.

I have always said I look forward to seeing our list at the beginning of 2019. Going to look a lot different and a lot lot better. Very exciting

Really happy with the club's decisions today.

Smedts was not up to it. His disposal just wasn't there and seemed to lack effort.

White gave his all for his ability can't fault him. But honestly every game he seemed to cost us a goal or three with stupid errors.

Boekhurst was drafted as essentially a mature age player and honestly just never seemed to get it.

Happy to see being ok is no longer good enough.
