He has and he's not wrong. 15 changes can be done, I just don't think it's likely at this stage.

Like I said I'm not ruling anything out

Am I doing this wrong?
Anyone can say, "Let's delist 15 players"
Showing how we'll go about replacing them takes a little more work.

The challenge is to:
a. On side of the ledger, show who's going out.
b. The other side of the ledger, show what may come in.

Is that not common sense?

**** you! :)

Ok, I'll try for you, but I think I'll fail and if I think I'll fail..............I'll know for sure that you would. How's that LL?

So because you know that you are an abject failure, then that automatically means that I will fail ??

I don't think so .............

I'll give you this though, we will definitely make between three & fifteen changes to the playing list at the end of the season.

Going to try and rid 15 players this year;

1. Graham - Delisted................... ND Pick #3 (1st round)
2. Gorringe - Delisted.................. ND Pick #39 (3rd round as we don't have a second)
3. White - Delisted...................... ND Pick #57 (4th round)........Why go deeper than this in a shallow draft year?
4. Armfield - Delisted.................. RD Pick #3
5. Buckley - Delisted................... RD Pick #21
6. Boekhorst - Delisted................ RD Pick #39
7. Jaksch - Delisted..................... Gibbs 2017 1st rounder
8. Rowe - Delisted....................... Casboult Compo ND Pick #22
9. Sumner - Delisted................... DFA
10. Korchek - Delisted................. DFA
11. Gallucci - Delisted..................
12. JGM - Delisted.......................
13. Simpson - Retired..................
14. Gibbs - Traded......................
15. Casboult - Free Agent.............

I've set up the template and we can all have a shot at it.
I think Korchek has another year and you can replace him with Sheehan if you want, but regardless, here are 15 players.

EDIT 1: So, I have a start point and have already included 2 DFA's which we may attain one. Two is unlikely and a third even less likely.
As yet, we haven't used any picks/multiple picks for players we want to reel in.

Here you go HARKER , based on the assumption that we finish 17th :

START OFF WITH

#2
#38
#56
#74

OUT
Gibbs out : two picks & a fringe player coming back from the Crows (eg. #16 & #19, they get one of them from Brisbane for Cameron)

Casboult out : #21 (if we pray like buggery, the Tigers may just throw the complete kitchen sink and more at Casboult and it triggers a start of first round comp to give us #3)

Simpson retires

Rowe retires

Graham to Saints for mid-late second rounder (say #34)

Boekhorst to WCE for a mid-late second rounder (say #36)

Buckley - delisted
Galluci - delisted
Jaksch - delisted
Sumner - delisted
Sheehan - delisted
White - delisted
Armfield - delisted
Korchek - delisted
Glass-McCasker - delisted
Gorringe - delisted

Nett Changes After That
#2
#16
#19
#21
#34
#36
#38
#56
#74
Crows fringe player (eg. Wigg)

IN
Hopper from Giants for #19
Jake Spencer from Melbourne as a short-term FA to replace Korchek & Gorringe
Ryan Shoenmakers from Hawthorn as a short-term FA to replace Casboult
Two other delisted FA's that suit our needs (dare I suggest Priddis from WCE ?? )

Nett Changes After That
#2
#16
#21
#34
#36
#38
#56
#74
Crows fringe player (eg. Wigg)
Spencer
Hopper
Shoenmakers
two other delisted FA's
White - redrafted as a mature age rookie
Armfield - redrafted as a mature age rookie

IN-LIMBO
Lamb - offered a one-year extension
Thomas - offered a one-year extension
LeBois - re-rookied for one more year

EDIT - I started working on this before you had typed up your template and therefore didn't see it.

EDIT - I'd also be trying to somehow upgrade #34, #36, #38, #56 & #74 to either better picks or a useful player whilst not losing out on the overall number of picks/players, not sure it can be done but who knows.

Gibbs for 2 first picks and a fringe player?

Graham and Bokehurst for 2nd rounders?
:D:D:D

You have lost your marbles.

The rationale I used was that that WCE are about to flick 12 players so they may be prepared to take on a Boekhorst instead of a draftee and Graham is good mates with Membrey at the Saints so there may be some sort of bromance deal they could be enticed into.

In a perfect world, I wouldn't expect those types of deals to come off but subject to how honestly the draft pool is rated, you never know.

If we sign Spencer and Schoenmakers as Free Agents then we get NO compo for Casboult.
Unless you are suggesting that we are picking them up as delisted Free Agents. In that case I find it hard to believe that those 2 will be delisted.

This is the thing, to speculate on how you could do something like that right now has way too many curly ends to factor in that realistically, no-one knows what the situation will be in 3-months time.

Off the main list

IMO Gone

Bucks
BB - trade/delist
KJ
Sumner
Army
Gorrange

There's 6 off the main list and you could add rookies

Galluci
JGM (hope not)
Sheehan
Korcheck

That's 10 and with the presumption that we don't get anything back for them that's 10 list spots we have to fill

Then there's Gibbs and Cas....makes 12 spots to fill

Possible ways to fill

4- 5 draft picks
3-4 players coming in via trade
1-2 DFA
Plus Rookie draft selections (Penrith and Hickmont)

If we cull up to 12 we are going to have a very young side

If you have taken the time to listen to Trigg you may agree we are looking for elite talent but in the 20-24 age bracket, therefore I don't see us adding 6-7 18 yr olds to our list

Maybe 8-10 list changes is "where it's at "[emoji12]

We have some real dreamers on here. We will be lucky to replace 10 players, 15 is fantasy. Watching the swans/hawks game, it really stood out how many poor/mediocre players were playing, players who if playing for us would be considered "players to be de-listed".

Success breeds success, confidence isn't taught, it is obtained through experience. We need more talent no doubt but we can't just keep dumping our best players for draft picks. We must win games, I'm not saying we become impatient but I think a few posters here still think draft pick numbers equal success. Personally, I hope Gibbs stays. I hope we can somehow get Hopper without affecting our first pick and then we go bloody hard at free agents the following 2 years.

And we're 3 years ahead of either side in terms of a rebuild. They just don't know they're rebuilding yet. Either might well sneak into the 8 but lose the first week of the finals. Only then will the reality set it.

I love that so many think that Armfield will be delisted come the end of the year. He will most likely retire at the end of the year and move into coaching and community relations at the club and he is probably going to move from being a development coach to an assistant coach with the womens team.

I reckon that the sideways move has already been agreed upon and the club only gave him another 12 month extension so that we had some depth coverage for the year!

I wish I could believe you Azul. Swans are genuine contenders again, Hawks right now would be if in the frame. We have a shitload of young talent and tough young leaders like Cripps, Docherty. These guys have me excited, but we need to start winning.
