He did the same when Kreuz was reportedly being shopped around a few years back and we were rumored to be getting high pick compo, remember?

Does anyone listen and put value on what Robbo says?Typical robo trying to down grade Casboults fa value to ensure Carlton get less compensation.

The funny thing is the player Kelly is most alike that you just mentioned is Ablett and he is miles ahead of him at the same age.
- The difficult thing about Kelly is that he's not Dusty, he's not Dangerfield, he's not Fyfe, he's not Ablett, he's not Selwood and he's not Buddy. As a matter of fact he's not even close.
- IMO I don't think Kelly is any better player than Gibbs and the only real advantage he provides is that he's 6 years younger. As you point out though, that will be more than offset by what he'll cost in picks and that he'll cost us a minimum of twice what Gibbs does.
- Shiel, Scully, Coniglio, Whitfield, Ward, Greene and, to a lesser extent, Hopper all help to take attention away from Kelly, so he never gets tagged. That won't happen if he comes to us.
- Forget the media hype about $1.25m/year I think it will be more in the region of $800k/yr and maybe around $650k/yr if he stays at GWS. Those same sources claimed Josh Schache had numerous 5yr/$700k contracts and a bottle of smelling salts waved about under his nose, but he signed a 2yr/$350k contract with the Lions. Make of that what you will.
- I'd be a lot happier to get Hopper if he genuinely wanted to come to us like Marchbank did, but my mail is that his first preference is to stay at GWS if a suitable deal can be struck.
- Would I like him at the Blues??? Sure, but if GWS is where the young bloke's heart lies then leave him there and take the pick to the draft.
- Must admit that I'm beginning to cool on Hopper and would rather see SOS trade for picks in the first 2 Rounds.
Occasionally Trigg throws a live mouse into the viper pit to see if any of the media bite. For most normal people 1+1=2, but for the media and online forums 1+1=Kelly+Hopper+Balic+......... It's just the way it works.
Didn't know that cheersYou don't have to have three picks in the draft if you've cleared the minimum off your list and traded for others.
i.e Hawthorn had two picks only, last year.
Pick 70 > developing ruckman
Pick 89 > bottom ager
Pick 108 > upgrade Alex Silvagni
B.O.G: SOS
He'd have to kick 10, on his wrong foot mind you, and submit 2 months worth of clean urine to be in the same galaxy as a discussion re whether his career at carlton was not completely over. Oh and then he would have 2 chances.KJ has the option of doing what Jones did and kick another 4 this week and force his way in. I am sure he understands that he is on his last chance to show us what he can do.
Totally agree with this. It might seem hard to let go of the safety blanket now but time for growth..Our football team will be much better off without Levi in it. The only reason he lasted this long is because of our poor recruit. He hasn't improved that much. I still doesn't understand how to play the game very well. He can't even get the basics right. Can't wait until it's all over.
He said SPS reminded him of Chris Lewis. Dumb fire truck!Sober or not sober? Does it matter...no. Numbskull of the highest order.
Won't happen he's contracted. Gibbs being traded is dependent on others trades...that we want. If they don't happen he fulfills his contract. What if Kelly and Hopper stay at the Giants or sign with other teams, what should our plan be then?
Can we afford to let Gibbs go knowing that Cripps & SPS would get hammered in the centre square.

Ok cool. So if we cant get either Kelly or Hopper should we just hit the draft hard again and grab a couple of midfielders?
Still don't have anyone on the list capable of playing that role. Our football team will be much better off without Levi in it. The only reason he lasted this long is because of our poor recruiting. Hushed conversations with Humphrey....
I get what you mean but a big no to Thompson. Cooked. If that happened and Gibbs left as well, we may need to go after Scot Thompson (Adelaidee one) and Matt Priddis types for a year or two to provide some support.

Unless we want to go back to the good old days of playing two ruckmen that cannot play as a forward, it is better to hang on to Casboult for at least the next two years, until McKay is ready to play 23 games while getting smashed week in, week out.
Asking McKay or Curnow to do that job next season will wreck their development and they could both be very special players in our next premiership tilt.
People in here keep forgetting Casboult was pick 44 in the rookie draft, he has come a long way and is about to hit his physical peak. He is 12 goals ahead of the next player in the AFL who has more than 100 hit outs for the season. Puts him in the top echelon of forward/rucks in the league. Also allows Kreuzer to play his preferred position.
If we didn't have a Casboult, we would be begging for SOS to find us one. Time to ease up people, he is what he is.

Then you've just validated my point haven't you???Of course he isn't close, those guys are all 27+, his numbers compared to the others (except buddy) at the same age are similar if not better.
Good to see you kicking around HyphensBack.Weitering for Dylan Shiel??
I feel dirty even proposing it and I don't think Weitering would move north.
Jones to enable us to get Shiel or Kelly ie with a pick - that I would do - sure Jones is looking great but you need to give up something of quality to get something of quality
