Fact is as of the latest round levi has kicked 18 goals 9 behinds thats a conversion rate many players would like to have . So at present the cant kick statement is off the mark and he deserves more respect for his achievement in that area this season .
However i do reserve this statement for future amendment ;)

A third of a season doesn't discount the rest of his career. When the pressure is on his kicking will be a huge liability.

Would you want him kicking after the siren to get us into a grand final? The last few weeks he's shown his true colours again.

That kick from the boundary was embarrassing for an AFL footballer it was worse than Ty Zantuck's.

Whats embarrasing is picking out 1 kick and tarnishing a very good season to date because of it . He has been a very good contributor THIS year thats all that matters to the side and club . The drivel about his kicking is boring as i said in another post he has kicked 18-9 this year not 9-18 . Have you not watched the past decade of ridiculously easy set shot goals by hundreds of players being missed from dead in front ? .If he drops off for the rest of the season then he may well be moved on . If he keeps playing as he has then he will be either rewarded with a good contract with us or a better one elsewhere . Good luck to him whatever the case .

Yes but he has put 39 out on the full within the 50m arc. Sadly, while he has improved, he just isn't ever going to be a reliable kick for goal

To those of you who wouldn't mind getting Sicily, you're kidding yourselves. Been dog shit already tonight. Dropped an uncontested mark, got caught holding the ball (which VERY luckily) didn't cost them a goal then next contest fails at picking up the ball at ground level Crows goal. No good arrogant man.

Hmmm, and none of our players have done these things this season right?

If he drops off he wont be worth much.

He is a shit kick for goal. Not just going by 1 kick either going by most of his career. I don't know how you can just forget about it because of a purple patch this year but he has reverted back the last few weeks.

When the pressure is on he cant kick. Deal with it.

I will never be confident with Levi nailing a set shot, when the pressure is really on in a big game or a final, the pressure just has too much effect on him.
At least he doesn't do any of those absolutely embarrassing efforts anymore, if he can keep those out of his game, have a strong finish to the year and kick 35-40+, could we dare to dream about end of 1st round compo for him ?
There are a lot of teams in desperate need of a genuine forward/ruck.

Quick though on LBJ

If Jones can maintain a spot in the seniors, could he solve our ruck relief problem too?

I think last year showed Krooz and Phillips can't co-exist in the same 22. So we need a backup to give Krooz a chopout.

Liam is shorter than Cas, but might have a better leap. Reports are he was competitive in the ruck at VFL level (granted not AFL).

Taking him out of the backline for 5 mins a quarter, I feel like Marchbank, Weiters and co have the skills and game plan mastery to just shuffle around a little and cover it.

Beats taking Levi (or Mackay/other KPF) and completely losing forward line structure...

Although I would hate for Gibbs to leave, this could be a scenario to please all the stubborn parties:

Gibbs > Adelaide
C.Cameron > Bris
Adel 1st + Port 1st (Bris) > Carlton

Heard strong rumours Lions chasing Cameron hard as he is from Brisbane and off contract + CBA lets them offer more than Adelaide who are doing their best to keep Lever and McGov

Other Scenario could be

Gibbs > Adel
McGov > WCE
Adel 1st + WCE 1st > Carlton

I think Cameron is contracted for next year .
Former AFC man Noble is now running the footy department at Brisbane so a connection is there .
AFC might decide they need that Port 1st rounder from Brisbane to add to their own in order to land Gibbs after tonight's game .
That amateur Reid will at least this year understand that Silvagni is not bluffing ...

We don't want him to drop off
We want him to have a good season and move him on
Sell high

This club can't afford to be clingy to nothing players
He's averaged a goal a game over his career as a stand at home full forward

Wouldn't mind seeing him kicking fifty and getting a rather nice band two pick!

I like it.

Usually it's a forward that chops out in the ruck but none of our other forwards could play that role except McKay...but he's not ready and not sure he's even playing ruck at all in VFL.

Would love to see it trialed over the last month of the season when we're eliminated from finals contention.

He played there a bit in the VFL but really doubt he has the tank for rucking at senior level consistently

As bad as Levi is, and he's truly a hugely flawed footballer...we can't afford to give up any scoring power. He's at worst, very handy depth and with young bodies like SOS, Charlie and Harry he's all the more important.

Levi is ten times the footballer that Tom Boyd is right now. But many would do the trade at a heartbeat it seems.

Tom is lucky he had a good grand final.

Seriously, apart from that game he's been terrible. The Grand Final performance has got the media off his back though.
Glad we didn't get him.

15 weeks into the season and all of a sudden we potentially could have some serious currency at the end of the year.
There is no doubt we are in for another significant turn over at the end of the year, SOS has shown he can get creative to get maximum return.

Casboult would most likely be my first perfered trade option, teams will come for him forwards who can also play ruck are a need for a lot of clubs, all it takes is an offer around the 600k+ mark and we could get an end of 1st round compo pick.

Gibbs is in career best form ATM, SOS will be asking the Crows to cough up two 1st rounders and if it isn't a very good deal for us then I can definitely see Gibbs staying, we either get overs or Gibbs stays.

Jones would certainly be in demand if keeps this form up, 26yo key defender would have plenty of clubs interested, thinking teams like GCS Brisbane and even GWS would be willing to let go a highly talented junior for a genuine ready to go key position defender.
With ASOS Rowe Marchbank Plowman Macreadie and Weitering, we are pretty stacked for tall defenders, if we got a very good offer, we could afford to trade him.

Then we have the steak knife players to help get deals done like White Graham Kerridge and Lamb, would be awesome if KJ could make a Jones like come back, don't think it's likely, wouldn't have thought Jones had it in him either.
Future 2nd 3rd or 4th rounders could also be packaged in with players to help get deals over the line.

OK, I will give a reason. At the money being "supposedly" talked about, anywhere up to $1.25-$1.6m/season (which I think is BS), you'd want Dusty be the face and voice of much of the clubs' marketing, pressers and general media. You need to be much more than just a footballer at that money. The board would not just expect him to do it, they'd demand he do it. Just ask Judd, Ablett, Dangerfield, Buddy and Fyfe. I just don't see Dusty being able to fulfil the types of responsibilities that would come with a contract of that size and nor would any sensible football club.
I'm not saying match it and keep them, im saying match it and trade them. Why wouldn't you make the saints trade for dusty rather than just accepting pick 14ish?

If there's a footballer on their side that epitomizes the difference between Grand Final day 2016 and their performance this year more than Tom Boyd I'd like to know who it is.
