I don't expect any (maybe 1 or 2 stay) of Buckley Thomas White Rowe Korcheck Gallucci Palmer Armfield Smedts Boekhurst Gorringe Simpson Lamb Jaksch Sumner Graham Casboult Lamb Kerridge Sheehan to be on our list in 2019.
I agree and shows you how far we are behind the top sides. No quick fixes. We need to keep going to the draft to make this re-build happen correctly.

Why do most people here retire White? Have I missed something? I have no doubt he'll be on the list next year.
i agree, he has been very solid in almost every game he has played, a steady head in the defence, very good depth player, can see another 1-3 years in him, alot of others to delist before white, rare he does much wrong

Would you trade a top 10 pick for Hopper or Smith?
I would trade between pick 8-12 in this draft for Hopper and 14-18 for Smith. However, not all of Hopper, Smith, Kelly and Whitfield will be leaving the giants and even if they did we are not getting all four. That is just so silly. Can you justify it?

i would trade a top 10 pick for either of them, i would love to see us land both with our first pick, almost as good as landing kelly IMO and would get for less, fixes two big holes on our list, would like to see gibbs go in this scenario though would like to see us with some sort of first rounder, maybe then target our own kelly in the draft

We have ASOS Jones Weitering Rowe Marchbank Macreadie Plowman (maybe even Jack Silvagni or G-Mac) as tall defenders. It can be as much about list balance as anything. I am not sure about rarely does much wrong either? Can make some bad mistakes.

Like many others we need to move past these "handy or okay" players to be a top side

i am well aware we have many other tall defenders, but i am sure white plays more a 4th tall, he is a nice size and very good defensively, where as most of our defenders are very attacking, i think if we are talking balance white stays
and if you take a look white is right up there with his efficiency this year, been more efficient than simpson, and i know simmo has been slightly off this year but you cant tell me hes been poor by foot.. i do know what you mean by he does make some poor choices, but i think youll find out of all the boys who are on the cusp of being delisted, white almost is the best of those decision makers, particularly this year

Nup. Gone this year or probably next

It is a trade 'hypothetical'

Based off the 'hypothetical' scenario where all of these players nominated Carlton as preferred destination.

So your valuation of Hopper is roughly pick 10 but the pick 22 valuation i put forward is a bridge too far by your calculations..

"Are you joking? 22 for Hopper? What do we have compromising photos of the GWS list manager or something?"

If Hopper nominated Carlton, chances are he would be demanding a late first to early second round pick.

If Smith nominated Carlton it would be for a mid to late first round pick.

If Whitfield nominated Carlton it would be for a mid first or valuable player.

HUN today reporting that Sicily is negotiating a new contract with Hawthorn.

Even if the HS is wrong, what sort of arrangement could have been discussed for Sicily to come to us?

I don't get it as it would have taken four parties to come to agreement for that to have come about and if it was to have come about, why not in '16?

How does Hawthorn, Carlton, Sicily and Sicily's management come to an agreement one year out? I don't get it.

As I said share your hypothetical with neutral opposition supporters and I can guarantee you won't like the result.

I think people are forgetting we are a bottom 3 list at the moment. How are we going to improve by keeping every player who is "not bad" or "can teach the kids?"

That list of players in your previous post is almost half of our list - good luck trying to move out of the bottom 4 with rabble like that getting games.

If we end up with a top 2 pick not sure trading that can be justified - surely that goes off the table and our 2018 1st takes its place for any Kelly type deal.

Secondly would we trade it for Saints current #8 + #9 (and would they).

Why not if Kelly is rated higher by SOS than whoever we'd get at pick 2?
It's not about where Kelly fits in, so much as #2 this year surely being worth more to us than next year's unknown pick.

Pick 2 makes an immediate impact for us which is what we need.

And we're 3 years ahead of either side in terms of a rebuild. They just don't know they're rebuilding yet. Either might well sneak into the 8 but lose the first week of the finals. Only then will the reality set it.
Reckon the hawks have been forced into a rebuild this year due to injuries and departures are doing amazingly well imo . Theyve had a number of younger players come in that have had a good grounding at reserves level . Considering out of their premiership winning sides last night they were minus Frawley - Stratton- Birchall and Gibson from the backline Mitchell Lewis +Hill from the midfield and Rioli Puopolo up forward . Thats a massive amount of quality and experience . Think they are travelling amazingly well with a new batch of players coming in .

I doubt SOS will part with our 1st pick this year or next

Sure but he's still kicking goals for a top 8 aspirant, in a position we don't have.

1 year deal as a playing coach to show Pickett and Lebois what to do wouldn't be the worst idea. Stevie J minus the personality.

Goal less in 5 of the last 7 matches.
